I blame myself tbh

Yes, I blame myself for being screwed out of a months salary. I saw the writing on the wall 4 months ago when my salary started to be paid in *installments*. I knew they'd done this before to previous teachers too (late salary payments etc), but I chose to ignore it. Why? well I had actually grown rather fond of my K2 class. In my 7 months I'd seen unruly kids make good progress and turn out to be quite bright and articulate young kids. There's the quiet kids who are now singing at the top of their voices to various songs we've learnt. I've had kids call me "daddy" instead of teacher and I know all their parents.

I'd steered clear of kindergarten teaching till I took this job because I was told it was more demanding and I'm a sucker for an easy life tbh lol. but I must say the rewards were well worth it... by which I mean seeing the kids improve.

Anyway, new job Monday so I'll be having a "Farewell" party for my months salary next Friday, drinks NOT on me :(

Apple American School.

I've been lurking on these forums from time to time but I had to vent my frustration somewhere so hence my post. Also, as I've seen from other posts, people need to be made aware of these schools (providing the grievance is just) as they'll continue to rip people off "till they find they can't get any more white faces" as another poster succinctly put it.

I can cope with the loss of salary as I don't have an expensive lifestyle here and I'm not exactly penniless but I've had dealings with bad payers back in the UK and I'm hearing the same bullshit from this school. They've also had complaints from the Khmer staff about late the release of their salaries, though I guess they were at least getting all theirs.

I've also got a question about passport renewal but I'll go and search the other forums here for info on that.

Is that in Toul Kouk? If so, that is probably the shittiest school I've heard of here. Windows/doors won't shut because the building is LITERALLY falling apart (meaning the structure of the building is that far misaligned), etc...

Terrible place.

Some schools do not pay salaries and fire teachers. Teachers take their salary and run away next day. Both parties can not do anything because courts are not working properly. Honesty and ethics are just words in Cambodia :(
