I was having a bit of fun, just like you were when you implied (again, in a libellous manner) that I had been fired.
The last (ignore) post was a joke which played on a situation, and named Playboy not you.
I'm not going to mention this again if you don't, so it's up to you.

You are talking about 2 different things. The emails you get maybe computer generated with geographical or vocational similarity. The "who has viewed your profile" bit in Linkedin is an actual record of a particular person who has actively opened up your profile to have a geez.DeanWeen wrote:I was going to write this earlier. I get spammed by linkedn more than any other site. Even when i report them as spam, they come back to my main folder telling me that so and so are waiting to connect with me. one time i clicked on it and accidentally sent it to all my contacts.Chuangt2u wrote:This.the_purple_turtle wrote:Is it possible that linkedin automatically generates these 'someone looked at your profile' just because you are known to be in the same geographical location? Business is slow, so the site tries to match potential business relationships... Just a thought. I've never actually used it.
I get notices about people on Linkedin delivered to my email address - been to the site maybe 3 times in the 4 or 5 years I've had the account. I don't like it.
I think those notifications are like facebook emailing you to tell you you missed something important, but when you go to facebook, there's nothing impotant there... they're just generating traffic for themselves by nudging you by comparing localities / links / relationships / interests / etc. with other users.
they should be sued or boycotted for their deceitful tactics.
also just this thread, we've said linkedn over a hundred times, that is great free google search engine key word boosts for them. it may seem like a shitty website and easy to stalk if you read the thread, but it also shows that people feel very emotional about their page, because of this, you, me, we, are helping build up linkedn as the number 1 talked about website for business connections.
I don't mind this too much as I get a heap of good looking female medical interns looking up mine

Obviously I would still complain if Scarlet Johannsen was checking me out...chubacca wrote:The "who has viewed your profile" bit in Linkedin is an actual record of a particular person who has actively opened up your profile to have a geez.

I can confirm this. When I had an account on that garbage I got an email saying that a guy who hadn't paid me for 2 year old work was having a peek at my profile. He was entirely out of my circle so definitely not computer generated. That cunt still owes me.chubacca wrote:You are talking about 2 different things.
