I am more than happy to share what I know in exchange for a pint.pissey wrote:I am interested to know what is wrong with living in China these days, maybe someone else could enlighten me.
I've met a few people who've worked there and the things they complained about mostly wouldnt bother me (apart from the difficulty in taking money out the country)
I am free days and all weekend. Name your poison.
The only way to gain insight into Mainland Chinese culture is to live there for more than 3 years and attempt to learn some of the language. The longer you live there the more you learn.
Just about every assumption you have about life, does not apply in Mainland China. Everything is different there. Just about everything.

I have read this thread from beginning to end.You probably missed my post that I am gainfully employed now.
I think we should be told what dumbfcuk, dimwitted moron of a school has employed the OP - so that we can all ensure that neither our kids nor colleagues end up being taught by this idiot.

Your class really shines through, Simon.
I would have no hesitation in recommending my students Adolf, Pol and Mao to you.

You have been offered plenty of sound advice. Stop whining for a start

Yea, everyone is dying to share a pint with ya, buddy. ....phnompenharrival wrote:This is 100% unmentioned on all web info wrt the Cambodia ESL market.DetroitMuscle wrote:I have never heard of anyone having difficulty getting a 10$ an hour teaching gig. Most, however, don't come in the middle if the school year.
That omission, and so many others, are why I posted my OP and stand by it completely.

Entertain yourself someways else.
Later...
So any updates Mr Arrival, having secured a job, under your own steam and by your own merit (by probably just doing what was suggested/c'mon sense)?
How's the director? Little shits giving you much jip? Been paid yet? etc etc.

I am a teacher. This is all something I have experienced before. So any issues that most of you will have, and complain about here, are just minor asides in my world that I handle with nary a worry nor thought.pedros wrote:So any updates Mr Arrival, having secured a job, under your own steam and by your own merit (by probably just doing what was suggested/c'mon sense)?

In addition, most of you who complain about Cambodia obviously have not lived in multiple undeveloped nations as an expat, for if you had you would know that Cambodia is basically what Earth is like in the developing and undeveloped world.
PP looks normal to me.
Now if you begin to compare the air here to that of Finland...sure, you guys will have 16,000 posts to complain.
