IPS School Review : Northbridge International Cambodia
I don't see the need for any further dialogue. IPS has admitted to a working relationship with the schools they are promoting. They also admit they did not conduct any detailed investigation of these schools and would not publish anything negative about them on account of the relationship they enjoy with them.
I find your claim that the vast majority of expats here pass through your doors at some stage highly dubious. You seem to think all international schools want and need promotion from your ilk, which is absolutely untrue in our case. We have managed very well for 21 years without such help.
Readers can now see these promotional pieces in a clear light-a real estate company promoting the virtues of schools that have a business relationship with them, without any form of serious investigation or objective analysis. What we are going to receive is simply a copy of these schools' advertising blurbs.

Someone with a rather inflated sense of self-importance there...IPS Cambodia wrote: Given the vast majority of expats that move to Cambodia pass through our doors...............
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

Dear IPS,IPS Cambodia wrote: Hi Gilmore,
Given the vast majority of expats that move to Cambodia pass through our doors at some point I don't believe it's too outrageous to claim that a common question we receive from from clients with a family is "do you recommend any schools". The review we wrote on Northbridge is a far from a detailed investigative piece listing all the pros, cons and digging up any dirt, as unlike PPP and KT we don't have investigative journalists working for us. We find a lot of properties for teachers from the international schools here so obviously writing a negative piece would not be in our interest, this is just logic and I'm not sure why you seem so offended by it. There is no need to speculate on the relationship between these IPS and international schools as the relationship is quite straight forward, when new teachers arrive IPS and a few other agents are passed their details and we assist them in finding a property for the duration of their contract. No money changes hand between IPS and the schools at any stage. Shocking I know.
You mentioned that you were the head of an international school, we would be happy to come and chat to you write a blog about your school. It's a mutually beneficial relationship that costs no more than an hour or so of your time. Please give me a call on 077 959 861.
you didn't do a review, you provide a short overview. That's all. And as an overview it is far from complete too.

In my knowledge, there has only ever been one critical review of PP schools published. It was in 2005 and appeared in that icon of Cambodian journalistic excellence the Bayon Pearnik.

I would hazard a guess they don't have any cardboard boxes for you to rent so it is more than likely you haven't come across them.vladimir wrote:Delusional. Guess some were not schooled in the meaning of 'the vast majority'.

In all fairness, the same could be said for Rose Bar, Walkabout, or even GSM if it had doors.IPS Cambodia wrote: Hi Gilmore, Given the vast majority of expats that move to Cambodia pass through our doors at some point
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

Hi Gilmore,
Not a problem if you don't want to be included as part of our school review. However I still don't quite understand why you are so offended by this blog. If we had written a piece on only one school with a headline of "Best School in Phnom Penh - 10/10 and went into great detail to extol the virtues of said school then I could understand eyebrows being raised. However as I mentioned the driving force behind writing these blogs is to provide our clients with information on a common question we receive. You don't have to take my word for it, take a look at our other blogs and you will see it for yourself; We receive questions about what there is to do in PP, so we wrote a blog on different sports to play here. We receive questions about the good bars and restaurants in PP, so we wrote on blog on the nightlife. We received questions about the enforcement of the foreign ownership law in Daun Penh, so we wrote a blog explaining the changes. We receive questions of the different title types, so we wrote a blog on it. We receive questions of the schools here, so we wrote a blog on it. It's pretty straight forward and hardly justifies our integrity and morals being attacked.
As a rule writing blogs is enjoyable and after writing one there is nothing that I like better than the Colonel's fired chicken. With 11 secret herbs and spices there is no better chicken in town and at $2.95 for their snack box it's great value for money. KFC - Finger licking good.
