Do you recommend properties that have discreet entrances? So as to minimize the walk of shame.
Fair enough, although I'm not sure what you mean by 'bias in the treatment of advertisers.' I've recently lost a long-term advertiser because his business was criticised here, although frankly the criticism was rather benign. But he took offence and left anyway. I can't think of a single advertiser here who hasn't been attacked - Sundance, raz, Flicks, Giant Ibis, Murray etc - all of them have gotten shit from the usual suspects (I don't include you in that phrase, btw).Gilmore wrote:Who said anything about moral outrage, scobienz? I have a lot of respect for the way you conduct this forum and generally agree with your views; the stereotyping of Australians excepted. I simply beg to differ on this issue.
I understand this to be a prerogative of forum contributors, though I was permabanned twice in my previous identity as gary gilmour's eyes; apparently without the knowledge or consent of kir. In both cases, I raised the issue of bias in the treatment of advertisers or business associates.
Thankfully, the vast majority of them understand this is the nature of an interactive forum, and deal with it with good humour.
Fair enough also, scobienz. I was referring to incidents that happened before you took control of the forum. Haven't seen any similar cases of bias since.
Interesting that this thread has degenerated-or is it uplifted?-into lighthearted banter.
Thanks for the invitation, IPS. Despite the insinuations, $5 beers and Topaz are well within my means. Unfortunately, I don't drink beer, only wine and spirits. I'm not a big fan of French cuisine and am currently incapacitated with a broken hip.
Most of my friends in Australia worked in some form of sales, including real estate. I have limited experience in the industry, having sold, written and designed over 50 advertising brochures, while working as a travel writer and editor in the Philippines. I'm sure we'd get on quite well, as long as the business side was left out of the meeting.

IPS Cambodia, you do say in your promotional piece that your reviews will only be limited to Phnom Penh. I wonder whether you have any similar plans in the pipeline for Siem Reap. I think I'm right in saying that IPS considers itself the leading real estate agent in Temple Town.
To be fair, you are engaging with posters, rather than just dumping an advertising piece & leaving it.

I appreciate IPS's good humor about the posts here.
I suspect that IPS can identify some clients as sex pats based on:
1. Middle aged western makes
2. No job in Phnom Penh
3. Looking for cheap apartments near Street 136
IPS probably also gets called to mediate disputes between those clients and landlords about hooker-visitation issues

The $5 beer thing was more of a sarcasitic dig at your IPS "wealthy clients" comment than your financial status. Wine and spirits is fine with me.Gilmore wrote:Interesting that this thread has degenerated-or is it uplifted?-into lighthearted banter.

I would prefer to think that the thread has been uplifted through some lovable banter.

Hi Springrain, we are still pretty new to the blog game and haven't written any Siem Reap specific articles as yet - we plan to change this in the near future though. SR schools would definitely be something we would look at covering.springrain wrote:IPS Cambodia, you do say in your promotional piece that your reviews will only be limited to Phnom Penh.
