Just to update... Open Net offers 8mbit for I believe around 50$...
I think a fellow 440 member called to sign up for the 4mb service and talked his way into the 8mbit line for price of 4...like 30$ a month...

Anyone who doesn't like Capitalism is a pathetic loser. God bless the USA and no place else.
Yep, I've seen it advertised at $40.DetroitMuscle wrote:Just to update... Open Net offers 8mbit for I believe around 50$...

What cheap and easy to use internet would you recommend I use when at home?
I use wifi when I go out so will only need small data packages at low speeds when at home- torrents can wait.
Currently I use a Smart sim but it's a hassle. Typing in codes to deposit, transfer and check my balance. Then having money confiscated because of some deadline or losing the regular credit in the blink of an eye because it auto switches from the exchange account. I'm fed up with it.

I need a fast internet connection and the ADSL and Emaxx fiber especially seem expensive. What about the 3G+ or 4G Aircards from Smart or other mobile carriers? Is it fast?
I use Skype, web conferencing, VOIP.
Thank you,

what is the mobile (3g) data like and where?
Nothing but an opinionated tourist. The Pope spends more time in countries than I do ! It is also not my place to comment on a gentleman's dress. A real 23 minute wonder, that obviously knows little about ovens and cooking in Cambodia.
Big big question, and too vague to generalise.EdinWigan wrote:what is the mobile (3g) data like and where?
I find if very good. I have a Cellcard SIM and am amazed that 2GB of data costs a paltry $5 for the month. Coverage is great, although I'm in PP only, but have been told it's probably the best coverage nationally of all the major suppliers. Others will confirm or deny that.

i was quite happy with metfone for $5 for 4 gigs i think and $5 for calls, ( until my trendy phone got pinched ) but you need to go into metfone to get them to sort it on the right plan
First, you need to define "fast."Entreguy wrote:I need a fast internet...
That's almost like saying you're looking for an apartment with a "cute" kitchen.
I'm trying to help.

fast internet helps if you want to stream lots of content from the net, download big packages of data etc. if you have slower internet you'll be at it for ever.but i think that 4 to 6 mb/s can already help.here in belgium i have 120 mb/s speed, but nowhere in south east asia do they have this , or maybe with a very high cost.cambod wrote:First, you need to define "fast."Entreguy wrote:I need a fast internet...

OpenNet offers unlimited packages, the $24/mo 4MB package delivers 6-8MB download speeds under most conditions.[/quote]
That's unlimited downloads for $24 per month on 6-8Mbit connections? Holy fuck, Australia has worse mobile internet than Cambodia
