Restaurants and Bars - what they serve, what they specialize in, what's the crowd, what's the cost, etc

If you were to make a list of all the fucked up, retarded, inept, stupid shit you shouldn't do on the roads, that would actually turn out to be the Cambodian handbook on how to drive.

I'd be interested in suggestions as there is so much to choose from. Also where to go for vegetarians, where to buy organic foods, etc. I understand that few chemicals are used on produce here when compared to Thailand, but I'd still like to compare.

Any suggestions for Christmas dinner without paying the $108 at the Park Hyatt?

Based on what little I know about local restaurants, I can recommend Common Grounds, Haven, and Mother Earth (Vegetarian). Locations are on www.agoda or www.tripadvisor . All are kn what I call downtown Siem Reap, between the river and the main road leading to Pub Street. On Pub Street I like the Khmer Family Kitchen.

Please add your favorites.
