Cambodia Visas
What prices are outdated?Hans3 wrote:The prices here is outdated. Can anyone please supply the updated version
See my post on page 2 of this thread, current visa prices.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
I read what you posted, no visa agency, not even lucky will do a visa extension for one month for less than $47. Where can I find a website that reflect the actual prices' Not this hogwash
Agencies set their own prices for extensions(official fee + agency handling fee), and they can vary significantly from place to place, and as I mentioned on page 2, the extension fees quoted are approximate prices.PSD_Kiwi wrote:(Note: The approximate prices above for visa extensions are based on the cost of having your visa extended through a 3rd party, not the official price from the Immigration Department)
You could try your luck and attempt to pay the official extension rate at the Immigration office opposite the airport, but they quite often try to pull the wool over foreigners eyes and charge more than most agents. While you're there, try to get a copy of the official visa extension prices and post it on this thread, try and contribute a little something yourself rather than calling the efforts of mine and other members posts hogwash.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

6 &12 months official fees are $100 & $180 respectively (not sure about 1 or 3 months though)
according to an official government site - http://phnompenh.gov.kh/en/visitors-tou ... g-culture/

Fair enough, that must be the right price if it's on the government website. Hans3, there's the correct answer.

Sorry if you feel that I came across as rude, I just have to get used to the fact that there is the price and then their price
Think of it as a small annual "expatriate's tax", the value of which is never having to justify to anyone, least of all the Ministry of Immigration, your suitability (or otherwise) for continued residence in the Kingdom, in perpetuity.Hans3 wrote:Sorry if you feel that I came across as rude, I just have to get used to the fact that there is the price and then their price
There have been changes to the extension of stay options for the E-type (Ordinary) visa, there are now 6 different options available. I have not come across any official announcements on these from the Immigration department or MoFAIC yet though, nor details of requirements and costs.
You still apply for the E-type visa on arrival, but when you extend you choose one of the 6 extension of stay options that is relevant to your circumstances .

My travel agent told me that next time I extend my visa I can choose between a business one or the new retiree one. No documentation required for either one.
They did say that documents would be required in a couple of years time. I guess when the 'competent authorities' have figured out a realistic workable system.

From FB...
Recently renewed my one year visa it would appear from what was on the visa and what the agent told me when I asked the visas are getting categorised EB for business, ER for retirees, ES for students and there was one other cant remember now. Not sure how valid this all is ?
The agent did mention that if you were asked by the relevant authorities I assume she meant the immigration that you would be expected to show the correct paperwork that related to the category of visa you had she went on to qualify that if you were on a retirement visa for example you would be expected to show proof of income from your own country. I would guess that a foundation is getting laid for a more rigorous granting of visas system and in time it will be a pre requisite for you to supply more comprehensive paperwork prior to the visa being issued perhaps ? At the moment it would appear if it is done through an agent it is fairly easy as opposed to the hurdles you may find trying to do it yourself without the correct contacts ?

Still working out those tedious little details.
The good part is the "possible to extend forever" part on some of the classifications. I don't remember the "E" visa stating this although it has been the case since I've been in and out of Cambodia. However it turns out... it's still one of the easiest countries to live in visa wise.

Still no spousal/marriage/family visa category yet though which is shit, plenty of Foreigners married to and/or have children with Cambodian citizens.
