Grand Optics on the corner of Norodom Boulevard & St 154.
Free eye tests with no modern bells or whistles but certainly competent.
Wide selection of frames and lenses imported from across the world.

I recommend Poly Optics on the corner of St. 13 and St. 110. I know several people who have gone there and were very pleased Not the largest selection of frames, but the best optometrist of the half dozen or so I have tried in Asia.
Anywhere good to buy daily disposable contact lenses or is it worth bring them from the UK?
I'd recommend the Scottish brand Daysoft if buying in the uk. They don't seem to shop to Cambodia

A ringing endorsement for Poly Optics for me. I went in on Saturday morning, got tested, and had a great pair of readign glasses ready for delivery the following day. Great service, decent staff and the lady also knew her place was being recommened on 440.
Too bad your new spectacles only work for readign and not for writign.A ringing endorsement for Poly Optics for me. I went in on Saturday morning, got tested, and had a great pair of readign glasses ready for delivery the following day.
Should have been a one hour service. Why no prices on this thread?scobienz wrote:A ringing endorsement for Poly Optics for me. Anyone recommend an opticians in SHV? I know off the one near orange market.
My presciption is very strong (+5) so have to get ultra thin lenses, which is expensive and specialists, plus anti glare anti scratch etc.
Would it be better to go to PP. I was quoted $360 just for the lenses, which is about right.

+5? Just use a coke bottle instead. Nearly time for corrective surgery?
I have used Paris optics for myself. No issue and was recommended to me but I already had my prescription so didn't need the tests.

You'd be surprised how thin the lenses are these days.GMJS-440 wrote:+5? Just use a coke bottle instead. Nearly time for corrective surgery?

Not interested in any laser surgery. As I'm not short sighted I'll be like "Oh" after the surgery instead of "OMG, I can see without glasses!" If I was short sighted. That lot really are blind without their specs. The McGoo's.
I'll wait until I get significantly short sighted as well and by that time corneal implants will be the norm. (They make an incision at the bottom of the eye. I'm not sure what the long term scar damage would do in laser surgery, which cut the front of the eye, plus I really don't want anyone slicing my eye open thanks.)
