They can translate from Khmer to English well but are very unlikely to accurately translate to Khmer.

What chance have these people got when they can't even speak their own language? :facepalm:

Disagree with this completely.
Most second language speakers have a much larger passive vocabulary (words we know but not well enough to speak) than active vocabulary (words we know and can say them).
This means we can translate back to our first language much better than we can to their second language.
