Could someone help me to translate two sentences please? (Only native speaker please, no google translate)
"Two things scare me. The first is getting hurt. But that's not nearly as scary as the second, which is losing."
And the other one is: "I am not fake!" (I mean, if someone thinks you are a fake person, and you say "i am not fake")
Both with Khmer and Latin script too please.
Thank you in advance.

The first one:
knyom klait robos dai pee
tee moy ger jea cheur jap
buntai moy nih mun aowie knyom klait klang doit tee pee
tee pee ger jea jayng
The second one:
knyom mun jea munoo klaing klay tay
I used the neutral pronoun knyom (ខ្ញុំ), if this is for your bird switch that out with oun (អូន)
knyom klait robos dai pee

Thank you so much. Only one more question. How it is "for Channy"? (In both script)
And "to Channy", if this two were different in Khmer.Still wrote:starkmonster wrote:The first one:

Starkmonster - are you a native speaker?
Your effort reads (to me) like a foreigner translating to Khmer. Not criticising - I couldn't have done any better.
The first one, I understand and probably would have said it very similarly,
The second one translates correctly from English to Khmer but I'm not sure a Khmer person will understand the meaning - I've never heard it expressed like that. Maybe they will understand ... but I wouldn't be surprised if they understand it something like 'I'm not a mannequin'
I would have went with 'insincere' which would be មិនស្មោះត្រង់ (also used for dishonest).
Channy could be written ឆន្នី or ឆាន្នី.
But I think it is more commonly used with j sound rather than ch sound - which would be ចន្នី

My take:
Two things scare me.
Mean roeung pee del khnyom phey khlach
The first is getting hurt
Tee mouy tortool ka tchoeu chab
But that's not nearly as scary as the second, which is losing
Pontae vea min tvoeu aoy phey khlach doch roeung tee pee koeu ....
For "losing," I'd like to ask a clarification.
Do you want to mean "losing" as in "being defeated", "surrendering" or "losing" against someone (her or a rival?)?
I am not fake!
Khnyom min maen monoos kleng klay te
For the name Channy, you'll have to check how he/she's spelling his/her name.
I've seen it written as ចាន់នី , ចន្ននី , ចន្ន័នី or even ចន្នី
To write "To Channy" you could write " ជូនចំពោះ [insert name]" (choun chompous)

For the first one.
Yes, the use of រឿង is much clearer than របស់
For the second one - I'm not a fake person. I just don't think it translates well. I asked two Khmer staff members and they came up with different understandings. One was pretty close but she was guessing (& she knows a lot of English). One understood it as a negative phrase another said it was saying you aren't an actor (without any real negative connotations). If you use this then you will need to follow it up with a few more sentences explaining what you mean.
If you just say you are an honest person and it will be much more easily understood.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, of course I mean "dishonest", not "mannequin/actor". I also agree with you when you say that honest person is much easier to understand. The primary meaning of 'not fake/not dishonest" and "honest" are the same, but the reason of my choice is that two expessions have different connotations. If I say I am honest, it is only a statement. But I would like to use as a refusal, because I was told I was fake.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:For the first one.
