Seeing as it seems almost a national trait at many levels, is there a term to describe 'a snake in the grass', 'frenemy' or backstabber in Khmer? As in one who is all smiles, but either jealous and bitter and plotting away when one is not about.
Purely for my records......
Is there a word or term for 'snake in the grass'?

អានេះឆ្កែជើងបួនសុទ្ធ comes close. It means like this damn dog with four legs. It means that the person is someone who cannot be trusted and will always do bad
I may also use គាត់ចង់ស៊ីគេ someone who likes to eat others.
Good question. Khmer really picks up difficulty once you hit this level of meaning.
