That loser walked into the small hotel and asked to see a room. He was polite and well spoken, He signed the register and then said “ive just come from the airport and need to change some money, Can I grab $5 to pay the taxi and put it on the room charge? I’ll pay tomorrow after I go to the bank”. Henrik handed him the cash and waited for him to bring his bags in from the taxi but he just disappeared. Henrik couldn’t believe he had been done by a Barang for only $5. Later when Henrik found him he was meet with some smart ass reply so Henrik grabbed him, lifted him over his head and threw him to the ground in a classic “Smackdown” wrestling move, hence the look on his face. I couldnt tell if the large crowd of Khmers where more amazed by Barrang fighting or that it was over $5
It amazes me that this guy wasn´t lynched by an angry mob after stealing the TV. I guess the locals were to perplexed to see a tourist doing what he did. If he was a local, it probably would´ve been another story.keeping_it_riel wrote:Fopro, he must have had a visa and passport in 2005 cos he had a run in with the law that year after deciding to steal a TV from one of those electrical product shops opposite Psah O Russei. This guy is pretty swift on his toes but with a TV weighing him down he only made it about 20 metres before being apprehended. It was in the papers at the time.
I once had all my money, credit card and ATM stolen while travelling. Stupid , stupid rookie mistake I made. Some people who did not know me looked after me very well until my sister was able to Fed Ex me my new ATM card from the US. Took 10 days.
Since then I have much more empathy for people who approach me with similar sob stories. Usually their stories are rife with contradictions, but most times I give them the benefit of the doubt and help if I can. Those serial con men fuckwits you expose here can rot in hell.

yeh thats the same bloke in the photos, though he looked a lot older, plus his teeth had gone to shit, most of them stained real black.

Back in the country I used to call home there are beggars using similar sob stories.
Usually I've seen them at the train station - probably targeting people from out of town who have just arrived and are looking like easy marks. Smaller towns usually don't have any beggars at all - if you're too lazy/strung out to work you get social security, and many alcoholics are on disability pension.
Actually, around 25% of the potential labor force isn't working - many are on disability pension or semi-permanent paid sick leave. This partly explains why I always threw tax returns, tax bills and the resulting demands for payment in the trash...
When taxes are handled over for collection you get a nice letter from the enforcement agency full of threats in bureaucracy-speak, basically saying that they will steal almost all of your paychecks, come to your house and rob you, kidnap you for questioning about your assets and intent of paying, etc.
That country is headed for meltdown within the next 20 years.

.Ok guys, your wild turkey man’s name is Jamie, from Canberra in Australia. Had a wife and kid in oz, was a postman and been in Cambodia since 1996 or even before this date .
How do I know, because I was in Cambodia from 1991 till 2003, he was an English teacher and a scum bag back then as well?
Luckily he avoids me, as I know his real story, so I don’t have to deal with him.
As for American fuc*wit he has been around since 2006 if im correct.
Feel free to beat either of them up, guilt free, they both deserve it

He was around a bit before then, but nobody has seen him in years. There was a rumor that he is now feeding the fish, at the bottom of a lake.redbull666 wrote: As for American fuc*wit he has been around since 2006 if im correct.

poor Jamie,
reduced to stealing / drinking shit like Wild Turkey and (local) Johnnie Walker.
Somebody should buy him a bottle of decent Irish
Reminds me of a beggar in Cape Town who asked my buddy Steve for R2 (about $1 at the time)
As Steve gave it to him, he said
"Wait a minute, how do I know you're not going to buy food with that?'
