Is live music killing Sharkies?
Live music is just progress.
Sharkies used to be a lot better before they paved the road, and put in the street lighting. Now the place seems too civilised.

Yeah man, Sharky's was way better when you could still grab a ho by the hair and ravage her right there on a pool table, while other guests (mainly disabled Vietnam veterans) were cheering you on. The good old days.
I've always considered it that: a sleazy joint for scamming girls and whining old yanks.
The last years however, they are responsible -together with Marc at Equinox- for facilitating the growth of a vibrant band scene here in Phnom Penh. Which is, IMO, not an easy feat in this transient community. I'm really happy to see them contribute in this positive way to local culture, instead of just being a place where to pick up a skank.
Maybe that's just me, but for what it's worth: Cheers guys - Keep it up!
As for Saturday, great night with good bands (though I thought the sound of the first 2 was not loud enough). And very important: busy, but not sweaty!
(would like to drink cheaper though - but Dean Ween didn't have his flask yet...)

LOL, by the time he gets round to it, he will need a 5L model.

ירי ילדים והפצצת אזרחים דורש אומץ, כמו גם הטרדה מינית של עובדי ההוראה.
Sharkys needs a good coat of paint and real air conditioning.I think its always been a dive.

Dive bars can be fun in their own right.

So we are talking about the same bar then.
