Classic Boxing Thursdays @ Quealy's, St 172.

Postby Jackal » Thu Feb 16, 2012 6:47 pm

A customer and mutual fan of the sweet science asked if we could have an hour or two of "classic" fights on a regular basis.

Last week we watched JMM vs David Diaz plus another fight.

Tonight we are going to watch probably two fights from 8pm.

Possibles are:

Gatti- Ward 1.

Coralles Vs Castillo

Foreman vs Quarry.

How many we watch on a given Thursday is dictated by the length of the respective fights. Suggestions for future Thursday fight viewing are most welcome.

According to latest reports Sketchy Khmerican Homey now plies his trade in Sinville.

Gluekid Invader last seen while yrs. truly was dragging his prostate figure from my bar to the gutter outside :eyes:

A Tyson night has been mooted. With some good editing we may be able to see ten full fights of his in under 20 minutes!

We had problems with TV audio last Thurs, so still have the fights listed in the OP on the burner also.

Hagler vs. Hearns would be nice. Wasn´t a bad fight. I think the idea of showing some classic fights is great and a nice start for a night out. Don´t wanna start a fight on pasteur though.

I'd like to see some live khmer 440 charity boxing. Two match ups that spring to mind from recent posts would be....

King 'of the ring' Lear1 vs Conny 'the Cheesemonger' Cuter
JM vs Chuang2 This battle for universal truth could be relatively interesting.

plus

Lucky Lucan vs Hanky Could be a little one sided but an even match at the same time

Any ideas of other good match ups and a good cause for money? Maybe that aussie outfit that Jess has been promoting.
Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

How about Carnera vs Baer from '34? That was a crazy fight. Carnera really could take a punch!

So, tonight at 8.30 approximately we will begin with Corrales -Castillo and then conclude with one more fight TBD.

Either next week or the following week we will do a Tyson night.

As for Benn-Mclellan - I'm not sure how much I would enjoy re-watching somebody sustain, very obviously, permanent brain damage.

A great fight but I don't think you'll get a copy anywhere. I would like to see it again.

Benn v Eubank was pretty good. Hatton Vs Kostya Tszyu?
