I took their 1 year package because their content suited me better --- the Setanta channel for a start for the rugby
Went to HO and they said they would send someone round to check it would work here on Riverside - on time the next day 2 fellers turned up and installed an aerial on my balcony and got it working sweet as. Cost be $2 extra for the install and $100 for 1 year 80 channels.
I have/had PPCTV as well 130 channels but 90% of it was repeating channels and crap including the movies and HD chans - lots of football channels tho.
After 6 weeks I am happy - yes, channels move around somewhat, but most of what I watch is from 40 upwards so no biggie. EPG is better than PPCTV and so far the quality has been great with better sports and movies (recent flicks too - atm Oldboy is on) & 3 HBO channels. I don't miss the ones disappeared (I prefer to dl Top Gear and have it all on HDD anyway) and those missing channels are likely to reappear at some stage. I notice that many of the venues with multiple screens seem to have the same channels as me so they must be using OneTV as well.
Other good point .... move house and just take the aerial and digibox and move them with you !!!
So far so good !!!!! Loving the rugby !!!!!!!!!!!
OneTV has now launched
Looking to get OneTV install done this week. The selection of channels is much better than PPCTV - of course that assumes I can actually get decent reception with OneTV. Seems hit or miss based on what I have read however the sales lady promised it wouldn't be an issue.

Does OneTV or any other cable/satellite provider offer receivers with DVR recording capability?
Do any of the providers have on screen guides so you can see what is on?

For some reason they are playing all the Cricket World Cup games with India playing on Channel 1 (info). Hopefully they will play the semi finals and final regardless.
Moving into a new place which I really want to setup properly. Is OneTV still grim or has the service picked up? What is the best solution in terms of telly these days?
Apologies if this is not the most recent thread on the topic.

I've had One TV for two years now (3 set top boxes for just a little more than $100 a year, paid 12 months in advance).Bosco wrote:Moving into a new place which I really want to setup properly. Is OneTV still grim or has the service picked up? What is the best solution in terms of telly these days?

The reception is great (digital signal) but I miss BBC World and other BBC (e.g. Knowledge) channels terribly.
The reception depends on the extent to which the external antenna is blocked by adjoining tall buildings because it has to be pointed toward the CTN antenna (in Russei Keo?).
My antenna is not blocked and the reception is perfect, with absolutely no interference or drop out of any kind.
The full package of 80 channels has almost every channel under the sun but... no BBC.
But who has time to watch all those movie and sports channels?
Ominously I will be on floor 2 of a Psar Thmey building with higher rise front and back so sounds like that won't be a runner. Maybe I am doomed not to have digital telly in my life

Tut Tut Gavin, there's a thread around here somewhere addressing these questions - unless it's on TOF.gavinmac wrote:Does OneTV or any other cable/satellite provider offer receivers with DVR recording capability?

TheOne TV box has basic DVR capabilities using a USB storage device. There is an EPG but the functionality is very limited and not available for all channels.
The missus watches crappy Indian soaps. I can't be arsed trying to watch anything on it, way too many adverts.
