Not worth the paper it's printed on?
Ahh, Broken Bricks and KIR return from the dead. And Stan's lost his dentures. What a great thread.

They had about twenty copies on the bar at Cadillac when I went in there on January 2 or 3.Lucky Lucan wrote:Edwardo wrote: Thanks for that. I see they still publish online but I haven't seen paper copies around like I used to. They used to be ubiquitous.

I picked up a copy of The Khmer Times last Friday and now they include a half decent Arts/Music Edition called GoodTimes2. Worth a look !
are there any old threads on this? GM?Edwardo wrote:keeping_it_riel wrote:....or how about about the ongoing sexual escapades of frisky old Stan Kahn - the septuagenarian who obsesses over teenage flange.

He wrote articles on the front page of this site but his name has been changed to Admin so they are harder to find:HsRob wrote:are there any old threads on this? The articles about him chasing flange were all in the Bayon Pearnik and his book:
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Used to be some really amusing articles in the Bayon but that was a long time ago - the magazine faces the same problem as almost every entity here looking for ex-pats, not many people stay long (apart from those working with NGOs- they never leave).
This months column has an interesting opening article about Kampot, and down the bottom the article, Bits from the Beach also good.Soi Dog wrote:The Bayon Pearnik was never exactly the Wall Street Journal, but Jeezus H. Criminey. Do they let ANYBODY write for them these days? The thing is unreadable. What a bunch of girzzled, old, panty-waste writers. I hope they don't pay for those articles.
Who writes Brits from the Beach?
I’ve heard it’s a chubby Japanese looking barang.

Haha - my money’s on Playboy
so ,you two above judge a book by its cover?, and wont watch a movie if you think the director is useless. That's Ok.
I thought the articles were pretty accurate,. regardless who wrote it.

I always read the Pearnik at the Walkabout (starting in the 1990s); also the Bangkok Post. I remember meeting Stan there not long after he first arrived in Cambodia a few years later. He enjoyed dancing if I recall correctly, though the WA wasn't really a dancing kind of place....
