Best steak I've had in Phnom Penh at Cavern last night - truly excellent.
Went to The Exchange not so long ago, was expecting melt in the mouth goodness from the $30(!) 500gm T-bone steak...I was extremely disappointed. 2 of the other diners with me went for the rump(?) steak, they only managed to finish about 1/2 each because they were too tired from chewing the slabs of fat and sinew they were served.
Not impressed by The Exchange at all, especially with the prices they're charging!

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

No worries Cambod, have the feeling it saves me... tons of money
Try Black Salt on St 19, behind the Royal Palace.. Best Steaks for a reasonable price cooked by Big Ben...

What's that French restaurant where the guy cooks it at the table for you? Not many tables, but voted the best steak consistently.
French guy I worked with at IHG rated it as the best steak he'd ever had, and he ate out 5 nights a week.

the thing about Armand's and I do it like there , is that the steak isn't cooked at your table . It's pre-cooked in the kitchen then reheated, flambe style with brandy, which is OK. I like his snails for starters , best snail dish in town in my opinion. For a top steak restaurant try New York Steak House st 63 south of Mao Shi Tung or whatever that Chinese bloke's name was.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.

Snails at Van's are exceptionally good. New York Steak House is pretty decent steak but a pretty soulless restaurant and probably not worth $100 for a meal for two, IMO.
No longer working at the S.D Holiday Hotel...

If you're looking for bargain cheap - Khmer beef, $5 for a "large" plate (about 200g), then go to Sovanna BBQ on Street 21: https://www.google.com/maps/@11.5548715 ... 312!8i6656 (yes you can get fries with that also)CannabisTourist wrote:hello,

For Western steak at value for money I'm struggling to beat Larry's Bar 300g Aussie Rump steaks lately - a whole lot of meat & salad, definitely not Khmer, for about $11.
