Oh yea, I completely forgot about that. I actually went to that. Long After Dark isn’t a regular spot, but it was fun to swing in for some beers and a burger. I was worried it would be packed (as LAD does not have a lot of room to mingle) but it certainly wasn’t.

Also any time I have went, I think they only had pilsner and dark beer on free flow. Anything else, including cider, requires payment.

Interestingly, I spent most of Thursday showing two young Cambodian bank executives around Sydney. One of their requests was to go and drink some beer and have a pub lunch in an Australian pub. Easy done. We just went to my local pub.
Both Cambodians were very surprised at the aroma and taste of the beers they drank and frequently remarked how different and refreshing Australian draught beer is being made from fresh hops and good grains and served well chilled. They much preferred it to the Cambodian beers they were accustomed to.
Unfortunately, I was the driver so had to limit the beer sampling.

On a serious note OML and after reading about your very interesting UNTAC days, did you ever bump into a Tasmanian war correspondent named Neil Davis? Would be interesting if you had and could re count any stories.
Cheers.
Never mind.

Hello Rainman
I casually met Neil Davis while serving in South Viet Nam but can't claim for one moment to have known him.
He was well known during the Vietnam War years.

Originally they had 2 tickets - a $10 and $13 ticket. I think the $13 ticket got you 2 burgers. I haven’t been there in maybe 3+years though... but I do distinctly remember thinking that there was a very limited bar - maybe I just turned up on a bad night.Jamie_Lambo wrote:nope theyve had a good 5-6 on offer the times ive beenផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Well that’s a positive development - would pull me back to it if all those beers are included.Jamie_Lambo wrote:i went a few times, they had a choice of...ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:The last time I went for this the place was pitch black and shut up. The lower priced ticket is for free flow and no food, the $13 ticket is food and drinks. I was there in Feb and they had a good selection of beers, 4-5 maybe. Food service has changed hands from Mike's to Strokesys. Good tucker in any case.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: Originally they had 2 tickets - a $10 and $13 ticket. I think the $13 ticket got you 2 burgers. Yup, got a confirmation from Kingdom that it's $13 for free flow beer (whatever's on tap) with a burger and fries.
See you there on April 6th I guess
Jamie, they brew the Brunty's there as well, so see you there?
