Yeah, there's no way you could take a case from Kampot to Phnom Penh. Utterly impossibleMiguelito wrote:Was in Kampot, figured the Khmer guy working there wouldn’t know where in Phnom Penh to buy some...Captain Bonez wrote:You should DEFINITELY not ask the bar where you might be able to procure someMiguelito wrote:Miguelito wrote:I’m enjoying one of these in a bar at the moment. Well as I live in Phnom Penh, and it's brewed in Phnom Penh, I would like to know where to buy it in the future for my home in Phnom Penh. Any ideas?Captain Bonez wrote:Yeah, there's no way you could take a case from Kampot to Phnom Penh. I suppose I could go to the Kingdom Brewery first Fridays in a few weeks and ask there, and perhaps buy there, but I was curious if any retail outlets sell it? I certainly haven't seen it in the grocery stores.

I used to buy it in Angkor Mart in TTP. Haven’t been in there in years, but assume they would still sell it.
Interestingly (for me) when it came out it was a bit more expensive than the Angkor/Anchor cans but I was happy to pay this as i thought it tasted better (or maybe i just wanted to think it was nicer) I was surprised to see its price soon reduce to be on a par with the others.

Nice, thanks. I'll check it out later and report backផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I used to buy it in Angkor Mart in TTP. Haven’t been in there in years, but assume they would still sell it.

Finally stopped by Angkor Market. Negative on the Indochine White. They did have a Kingdom Dark, which the labels says is “insanely strong” (despite it’s actually apv of 5%), for 80 cents a bottle, but that doesn’t help me in my quest for Indochine White...Miguelito wrote:Nice, thanks. Not sure which variety it was but the Kingdom draught at the Britcham cricket event yesterday was excellent.

So I finally went to the source and emailed Kingdom brewery directly asking where I could buy a case of Indochine White. They said I could come directly to the brewery, or they could deliver within Phnom Penh. He then offered a free tour and free draft beers if I came to brewery. As it turns out, you can come for a free tour and free beers any day of the week from 1-5.
So I went there after lunch today. I was directed to the taproom and offered a tasting of four beers (from right to left):
Pilsner
IPA
White
Stout
And then I grabbed this for the tour:
It was a perfect tour - lasted about 10 minutes, then back to the bar.
I then left with a case of Indochine bottles: $34
Looking forward to going through these and requiring another visit
