Oh, shucks, missed that one.RainMan wrote:You'll just have to grill and bear it.
Perhaps it's just hard cheese, we shouldn't make a raclette about it, it will just rind Larry down.

I haven't been in LoneStar much lately but I wonder if Larry's has had any adverse impact on Lonestar. Both target similar customers, i.e. middle aged Americans who enjoy a place to eat, drink, smoke and have a laugh with the female staff before going home or moving on to hostess bars.

Why, oh why, didn't I take the Blue pill?
Yeah we really should have a closer look at that very interesting topic.

Was there yesterday and had the roast turkey special with gravy, cranberry, stuffings, mashed potato, mashed sweet potato, veggies and side salad.
F*cking brilliant it was!
...and it was absolutely packed btw. Looks like they're doing well.

I was there yesterday for the first time. It was moderately busy around the bar mid-afternoon. The Aussie beef burger was excellent although the sandwich overall could use some dressing up with other than a single sprig of lettuce, three tomato slices and a bit of raw onion for $7.50. My friend enjoyed the turkey dinner and pronounced it excellent.
Have to say the servers there could use a little polishing as their efforts belied a somewhat suspect background. So I can see how some people may think the place is descending into typical hostess bar territory. But sometimes you just don't have a choice of personnel when you have empty slots in the work sked.

I think Larry's (and Rehabb) may have hurt Lone Star a bit. I have not been in LS on this trip and only 1 time on the last trip. Walked by LS three times because I am staying near there. Last night (Saturday) at 7 pm, no customers. Was shocked. The other two nights, only one or two customers in the evening. I lost interest in LS several trips ago. I think Greg needs to have a talk with his smartphone-obsessed staff. An engaged staff begets engaged customers who stay for just one more. I assume the food is as good as always.gavinmac wrote:I haven't been in LoneStar much lately but I wonder if Larry's has had any adverse impact on Lonestar. I like LS but my opinion is that Larry's wait staff are much nicer and I have never got any stink from them. You know, the "I started working here when I was 16 and I've had numerous hopeful relationships with Borong, all that have gone no where and now I am 20 and have a kid and I can put on the cute smile for 12 minutes while you stare at my huge breasts but after 12 minutes I am not only not interested in speaking to you I also have zero interest in bringing some mustard to you. But I still do enjoy the power of my huge breasts even though I know you will never be serious with me." That kind of stink.
It better be smart, not clever. Funny, not insulting.

Stink? Smells pretty good to my eyes.
