Anyone try the "All you can eat BBQ" at Sundance? Walked by and saw the sign. If you have was it American or Asian style BBQ and how was it? I think I saw one of the Sorya Mall cafes offering a similar deal.
Thanks

Yeah, it's pretty good. A plate of ribs, chicken and a few sides that's replenished as much as you like.tatt2ed wrote:Anyone try the "All you can eat BBQ" at Sundance? Walked by and saw the sign. No longer working at the S.D Holiday Hotel...
Agreed. Totally American style, and you can keep asking for more of anything you want. A killer deal and highly recommended!BURLESQUE@SDHHOTEL wrote:

Also announced here: khmer440...Lone Star closed May 10, 11BirdBrain wrote:I think I remember reading on Facebook that they were closed on the weekend as there was an anniversary party for the passing of someone.GMJS-440 wrote:Maybe Lonestar closed last night or extremely busy? I called a number of times between 7:30-8:00 last evening and no answer. I ordered from a different place in the end.
The previous time I also had to call a few times before getting an answer.
Bad luck, busy, closed? Anybody else have similar problems?
It should be open again today.

Just got Brooklyn Pizza delivered to our home 10 minutes away from the shop. I am beyond disappointed! After all the hype and talk, we finally ordered one. We got the " Godfather" .... When it was finally delivered, at 2:30 PM on a Wednesday, we opened the box to find a half assed pizza sitting there. My first thoughts " I just paid $12 for this?"
Just finished the first slice and it has to be one of the worst pizzas I have tasted. I've had a lot better from the $5 happy pizza places. Bad day perhaps? At 12 dollars a pizza, I expected a lot better. We both ate 1 slice and the rest is going in the bin. Horrible.

Slightly unfortunate name, though. Doesn't Bak Kut mean some kind of anal sex act? I learned this by asking for a can of Bacchus with what I thought would be the correct pronunciation.....honest.

It's attached to a hotel which I suspect May be a knocking shop - so maybe that makes sense.RobW wrote:Will try.Petrol Head wrote:Hometown Bak Kut Teh

But maybe it is a weird sex act with a hot beverage because 'teh' is 'tea'.

Sonoma Hoagies on St. 278 just west of St. 63 is a good place. That's just south pf Sihanouk Blvd. Vietnamese sandwiches. Only tried the pork, it's said to be the best. At $2 a pop, and a sit down venue, with some DECENT bread, you can't go wrong.
They also have Snapple, which is a rare treat. Costs more than the sandwich, but hey, you only paid $2 for the sandwich, right?
Good for a cheap, quality snack, if you can't find the friendly lady with the cart ...

Bak Kut Teh ---- is a soup very popular among the Chinese communities in Singapore and Malaysia.Petrol Head wrote:It's attached to a hotel which I suspect May be a knocking shop - so maybe that makes sense.RobW wrote:Will try.Petrol Head wrote:Hometown Bak Kut Teh

Roughly Translates as "Meat Bone Tea" --- usually a piece of pork still on the bone, in a soup of varied ingredients.
Taxi, we'd rather walk. Huddle a doorway with the rain dogs The Rum pours strong and thin. Beat out the dustman with the Rain Dogs; Oh, how we danced and you Whispered to me ... You'll never be going back home

Still could be a double entendre though Rob..

It does sound like it. Pork on the bone, titter titter.
Anyway, try popping into your local mom & pop store and ordering a Bachus pronounced Bak Koot. You get some odd looks.
Trying it this evening: the restaurant, not bak koot.

Last night I tried Lonestar's ribs for the first time. You do indeed get to pick 2 sides from which there are about 8 or so different options. I choose mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. Wow! The ribs were amazing. The mashed taters and corn were both top notch as well. At $7, I will be back for this dish many times. The ladyfriend tried them as well. She loved them.
I also really like the atmosphere and staff at Lonestar. Navy and her sisters behind the bar are always good for a chat.
