Craft Beer
Craft Beer
Where else serves the craft beer that's available in The Exchange and Lone Pine? The stuff's brewed by three American guys and is like an American IPA.
Question: How much does this stuff cost in the bars, how much do you get and what format does it come in (bottle, draft, etc...).
Need to decide if I can afford to make the switch from the local piss.

Someone posted in Rehabb thread that it's $4.50 for a draft.

$3.50 for a regular size beer at Rehabb and $4.50 for a bigger glass that seems slightly less than a UK pint.
$4 at Brooklyn for regular glass.
I think Lone Pine Cafe also serves it at $3 a regular glass.
It's only available in draft.

Spunds more than fair. Shame they haven't made it to Temple Town yet, AFAIK.scobienz wrote:$3.50 for a regular size beer at Rehabb and $4.50 for a bigger glass that seems slightly less than a UK pint.

It makes for a nice change. I wouldn't drink it all the time and locations are limited. Rehabb being the only bar with it by the looks of it so you risk being sandwiched between Playboy and Scobienz, the conversation equivalent of watching paint dry.Bosco wrote:Question: How much does this stuff cost in the bars, how much do you get and what format does it come in (bottle, draft, etc...).

At $4.50 for an almost pint which is more than I was paying for a pint in Birmingham, UK in May I'd want to be listening to something really exciting. The brewers must be making a fortune given costs here.rebo wrote:... so you risk being sandwiched between Playboy and Scobienz, the conversation equivalent of watching paint dry.

In fairness to Craft they will have quite high production costs. I've seen their operation and they spend a fortune importing very good hops and barley in from Europe. That won't come cheap.
As an aside I had a few pints of different real ales in a pub in Ealing, west London last night. I was amazed that they were only £2.30 each. Admittedly it was a Wetherspoon pub and the same pints are £4 or more in little boozers half a mile away, but I recall paying nearly two quid a pint when I was living in Ealing in the early 1990s.
Wetherspoons. A fine institution. Today you canhave a huge roast and a pint for about 7 quid.Chuangt2u wrote:£2 a pint London prices??
Can't get water for that, surely?
Only trouble with the place is that it is entirely acceptable to have a pint at breakfast time.
A bit like this place.
And on the Craft beer stuff, I thought the American one was very good.
