What do you call Teletubby/Arty/Toprecruiter/Riversidebistro/TristranandIsode when he's at GSM.

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
how about "NOTHING"?TristranandIsolde wrote:Ladies love "Lots of Love." What can I say?
seriously...this is a thread about Starbucks that progressed into a discussion on how other coffee shops in Cambodia compare to it....it is not a discussion about how you are, or how you or others perceive yourself... I would not give a hoot usually but every topic I want to read is hijacked by a self-obsessed panda bear.

Apparently we're now allowed to use the term "cunt" on these pages.aem wrote:how about "NOTHING"?TristranandIsolde wrote:Ladies love "Lots of Love." What can I say?

Not saying that he is one, but as our ringleader would say "just saying".

To be fair, I'd advise my fan club to stop being so gay and contribute instead of attack.aem wrote:how about "NOTHING"?TristranandIsolde wrote:Ladies love "Lots of Love." What can I say?

Thank you for your derailing contribution.

Cambodia is STILL a disadvantaged country, and chump change for a MNC. Pepsi could BUY Laos, Starbucks can easily buy Phnom Penh.
Not fair to local businesses. They are STILL RETARDED. I mean, behind the times. So, not really fair ... I think you all agree they are still a bit RETARDED.
NOTHING PERSONAL against Starbuck's or anything like that. Just afraid of monstrous MNC's with Monsanto like capabilities. Maybe Starbuck's is better than most, but it opens the door to ...
Over-caffeinated a-holes semi-addicted to overconcentrated black liquids more expensive than gasoline.
Just sayin'. :p

Jeezus Christ man, get over it. Since when has life or business had to be fair? Fair is a pathetically asinine concept.TristranandIsolde wrote:Cambodia is STILL a disadvantaged country, and chump change for a MNC. Pepsi could BUY Laos, Starbucks can easily buy Phnom Penh.

Starbucks and all your hated MNCs would not be in Cambodia if there wasn't a market for their products. There clearly is, otherwise people wouldn't be buying them.
I'll tell you what is not fair. Over-indulged and pampered westerners living in Cambodia (by choice) pontificating about what goods and services their hosts (who don't have the same freedom of movement) can or cannot enjoy.
feels a little bit like the new season of south park in this forum right now. I guess it is better to not keep on feeding the troll.

Begging your pardon, but I presume you don't understand, "Paradise Lost?"scobienz wrote:Jeezus Christ man, get over it. Since when has life or business had to be fair? The more you try to change a Paradise, the more you lose it?
Someone should open up a place called "Monkey's Paw" and invite Scobie for an explanation of Paradise Lost.

It depends what you define as a paradise.
I suspect the locals prefer more competition and choices than less.

It's pathetic to hear someone who work to develop the country (even indirectly by teaching or providing decent employment) subsequently complain about development.

Because development is measured by the number of fancy coffeeshops or international franchises coming in and not, say, infant mortality rate, life expectancy at birth, school enrollment rate, maternality mortality rate, school dropout rate, annual disposable income, undernourished and malnourished rates, economic opportunities and social mobility?Khmerhamster wrote:It's pathetic to hear someone who work to develop the country (even indirectly by teaching or providing decent employment) subsequently complain about development.

Development (measured by the KPIs you mention) means more prosperity and in turn some form of globalisation.
Yeah, we'll help you develop into a more prosperous society but then get miffed when you want to decide yourself how to use it.

Development is measured in the price of beer, breakfast, and hookers.Joon wrote:Because development is measured by the number of fancy coffeeshops or international franchises coming in and not, say, infant mortality rate, life expectancy at birth, school enrollment rate, maternality mortality rate, school dropout rate, annual disposable income, undernourished and malnourished rates, economic opportunities and social mobility?Khmerhamster wrote:It's pathetic to hear someone who work to develop the country (even indirectly by teaching or providing decent employment) subsequently complain about development.

That’s it, everything else is just trivial, and of little or no importance.
