Was Adore always run by the same guy that ran Paddy's? A few months ago there were two reasons given to shut down the restaurant: 1) No profit for the last 18 months, and 2) Rent was going up.
Is it the same guy running it as before? If so, why the change? If not, that's the fastest handover, refurb, and reopening I've seen.

The seating area outside looks finished. Still looks like a building site inside.

I miss Canteena. Yeah yeah I know full of wanker journalists, very true and i told them that every time. But a few good ones too, and the joint was always jumpin'. Well, often enough.
Hurley, you gentle stoned soul, come back from the dead if you can. We need more men who will turn away the tourists.

I never went there a lot as I was new around and felt a bit out of place. I got to know a few of those guys since though and they've all been very good sports.Hairy-nosed Otter wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 6:52 pmI miss Canteena. Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

I feel out of place everywhere, always have. The ultimate social retard, I don't even drink. But after meeting Hurly one quiet afternoon I always felt at ease there.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 10:57 pmI never went there a lot as I was new around and felt a bit out of place. It did help that I knew my smartarse shit - so I could hold my own with the smarty journalists.

Could be, but it could also be a way to shed investors. “Oops, need to close, no profit here”. Then reopen without having to pay dividends to previous investors that got you off the ground.

Are they up and running? I wonder if they'll still have their Sunday Roasts, and if it's all the same staff or new.
For the past 3 weeks I was going to the old Paddy Rice which is now called Cheers Bar. Been hitting it from 6-7pm for the 75 cent Happy Hour drafts and to watch sports.
Had a complaint about a bad pour which they fixed but weren't happy about (see photos)
And so I went yesterday at the same time, ordered my draft and paid with 10000 riel. Started drinking the draft then open the change bill to find a bill for $1.50...
When I enquired the waiter told me there was no Happy Hour for the 3 days of the Happy New Year.....WTF?
Went up to the bar and said I've been coming for the Happy Hour almost every day...Why not tell me there was no Happy hour during the Happy New Year which I thought was quite bizzare....Anyone know of pther places doing this?
I gave him the beer back and got my money back and left never to return again.!

What weren't you happy about, particularly in the second photo?
If they have a happy hour sign outside they should remove it on days off. If they didn't have a sign I don't think you can expect that level of customer service for them to specifically seek you out and tell you.
