I can sleep without my wife, but not without two pillows. I need 2 pillows.

I had lunch there yesterday. The have a list of "Western entrees" most of which are $10+, but the pork chop with mashed potatoes was $7.50. That's what I got. It was very good, better than the pork chops I've had at Riverside Bistro or Cadillac Bar.
Also, they give you a free beer or soft drink if you order one of the "Western entrees." $7.50 for a good sized pork chop, mashed potatoes, and a coke. Not bad at all.

Not bad but not good either, considering that a large pork chop in Cambodia probably cost less than $1.50. Yes blah blah overhead etc. I had a restaurant in Snooky for 5 years and could sell a good chop, mash, AND mixed veg for 5 bucks and still make money.

How much do you think they should charge for a pork chop, coke and potatoes served in the middle of the Phnom Penh riverside, in a restaurant that probably has one of the highest rents per square foot in the country?johnny lightning wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 10:38 pmNot bad but not good either, considering that a large pork chop in Cambodia probably cost less than $1.50. Those new French pillows don't pay themselves.

Based on this post, $5 in snooky to $7.50 in PP riverside makes the price seem reasonable.johnny lightning wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 10:38 pmNot bad but not good either, considering that a large pork chop in Cambodia probably cost less than $1.50. Pork chop Tuesdays at the Rising Sun used to be unbeatable both in quantity n value. Two big thick chops, roast spuds n steamed veg plus gravy for about 5 dollars, no free drink though.
How much now ?

Point taken about riverside rents. As for new French pillows, they have never enhanced any of my dining experiences and I suspect never will. Dump the pillows and add some veg. I am not a décor diner. I am just as happy in a dive (not a dump) with good food and ambience than at any higher end joints. Personal preference I suppose.
