Makro Wholesale Supermarket coming to PP
I think that's the photo of the grand opening day, strongly doubt it will always be nearly as full after a week.
sign is in khmer not thai so it wouldn't be a thai shop. only been open one day so yes grand opening day sales. looks to have been a highly successful advertising campaign so look for who ever did that for your business. but probably inhouse promoters.jackrossi wrote:I think that's the photo of the grand opening day, strongly doubt it will always be nearly as full after a week.

It certainly doesn’t look enjoyable, and I am very thankful that I wasn’t there, but I don’t think it deserves a
Something new opens, giving millions of people access to cheap goods in large quantities, of course it will be popular. Also, not everyone shopping there will be consumers. It’s essentially a wholesaler, so prices should be low enough that people with small stores will be shopping there to then resell the goods, just as what I’ve seen when visiting the Makro in Thailand.

basically the ones that do run small restaurants, or have large families. Been in a few times but dont need 25 rolls of toilet paper at a time, 2,000 grms of Peanut butter, 5 kilos of broccoli or 100 disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste.

Makro is here and it would be great if some rich man can nego an IKEA franchise here in Cambodia. The problem with furniture importation is that the cost of production add up with shipping and custom is to damn high compare to those trucked in from Vietnam and Thailand.

yeah sure mini-marts in pp but theyre expensive and useless. got nothing to eat in them whereas thai 7-11 got so much you could eat and drink from them for most of a week without much else. good prices too

I'd pay $2 for pineapples rather than $1 not to wade through that cluster fuck.

We had a free morning today before flying back from Bangkok, so checked out Makro in Sathorn. It was the first time I visited one. They didn't have the one thing I was hoping to get, but we picked up a few bits and pieces. The minimum quantities weren't as high as I was expecting, lot's of food items were just like in a regular supermarket.

Can anyone walk in to this place, or do you need to have a business/proof of registration?
Sign up for Membership online or in store, no need to have proof of owning a business (how many Cambodian small businesses are registered?).epidemiks wrote:Can anyone walk in to this place, or do you need to have a business/proof of registration?
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
