Minx Bar on 108 isnt a "hostess bar"violet wrote:I believe my post said non-girly/hostess barsJamie_Lambo wrote:ill add a coupleviolet wrote:Other than full on girly/hostess bars, what bars are open from 2am to 7am (or until 4am if 7am is pushing it)?
Sts 104 to 118:
Street 108: Minx Bar, (nice airconned bar) will stay open until sunlight if has customers, usually has late night Ozzys (male and female) turning up there after hours, they will also cook you some pies to take home for supper/breakfast
Sts 130, 136, 172, 174, 178:
136 helicopter bar (hostess bar) is open 24/7, but if you want to barfine a girl there violet, even if its still 5:45am they still demand you pay a barfine
BKK1/Bassac Lane:
TTP:
i thought id throw helicopter bar in the melee just as its 24/7
theres also Why Not??? bar on street 52 opposite newcastle hotel, just a street side bar, but its fun there sitting and having a few drinks people watching

doesnt matter when i start my going home hours are around 5-7am,ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I don't really get the desire to drink on throughout the night.
Maybe when I was a student... but now i start earlier and I can get all my drinking done before 11pm and be home and asleep by midnight. That gives me around 5 and a bit hours sleep before up and at it next day.
What time are you starting at if you are intending to carry on throughout the night?
Do you just write-off the next day? Finding a quiet place to sleep during the day can't be easy.
Don't you have work to do?
i might start thinking about going home at 4, but will likely end up distracted, when the black sky starts turning blue thats when i start getting serious
doesnt matter if i start at lunch time or 9pm ive got good endurance (norvun blood), so i try to go out as late as possible (around 9ish)
i envy the people that can call it a night at 1am
once i start its hard to stop
i do have more control/will power if im only drinking beer,
but if im cracking on with the cider and vodka ill be going home when the old people are doing their morning walk exercises

I don't have much desire for it either, it would be extremely rare for me to be out in the center past 11.00.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I don't really get the desire to drink on throughout the night.

However, on the odd occasion I might be, I'd like to know which places are an option. It can be very hard to find
anywhere you want to go that's open late at night, nearly the whole riverside has died on its ass by 10.45 and
most everywhere else starts looking deserted outside of a few streets..

Are you 30 yet? Since I turned 30 I rarely go out past 1 or 2, unless I'm on holiday somewhere.Jamie_Lambo wrote:doesnt matter when i start my going home hours are around 5-7am,ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:I don't really get the desire to drink on throughout the night.

If you are just looking for a time to chill, go to St 104. Go to Bunny Bar, been there and it's great

Shit, that is very familiar. I try to start no earlier than 9 because, unlike you, starting earlier does actually make a difference. Not to how long I drink for but to how pissed I am when the black turns to blue.Jamie_Lambo wrote:doesnt matter when i start my going home hours are around 5-7am,

I have that similar inability to stop when I get going, therefore having to use techniques other than willpower to meter my intake. Such as only drinking beer and not starting early. Fortunately, I can't drink spirits in any kind of quantity, I get horrible heartburn/indigestion/reflux if I do.
Wine I can drink in quantity and I have to be careful of that. I don't drink it except at home or with food when dining out. Sitting in a bar for a night, wine is a no no. I'm too much a drink chugger, not enough of a sipper so I have to have glasses of stuff I can chug and still be upright hours later, which means my weapon of self harm has to be beer.
I used to be similar, every weekend closing the Manhattan bars at 4 am and finding a place to keep going. Used to do Hookah at 5 am sometimes, or the hidden speakeasy. I was known amongst my peers as the heavy drinker. I had different groups of friends for different styles of drunkenness. Had 2 hot chicks for VIP NYC clubbing. My lawyer and accounting friends for lounges, wine bars. My hometown friends for rock bands and booze nights.
I regularly blacked out on the train home. Conductor told me to consider a life change.
I grew tired of it, but not until in my 30s. Now I may drink earlier and sleep earlier. I like it, but couldn't imagine it when I was younger.

New sports bar on St 172 is 24hrs, just across the road from Pontoon heading towards St 63.
Been there on a few occasions at various times. Staff are well trained with food & beverages priced reasonably.

It's never too late to be nice, unless you die.
