Fantasy football is back - I've renewed the K440 league (join code: 375973-138663)

There's a whole bunch of you keen reprobates already in there, the usual suspects of Jebus Saves & the "in Asia" crew - I completely forgot who won last year already (Tallest Man on Earth?) - and there's no prize other than trolling AIA in absentia, bless him ;) #BringBackAIA

Some great transfer business so far preseason, so without further ado, let me kick off the proceedings ...

Can't we have a Championship tournament for fans of real football, not the plastic crap that happens at Upton Park or wherever it is clubs play nowadays?

You've have to drag those fans to Ell-and back! :-)

As it was asked on another thread, and this one needs a bump :-)

YellowTree league (prizes): https://www.facebook.com/YTFPL/

Are there any others that members are involved in with $$ up for grabs, particularly locally, but also any gems elsewhere for the discerning FPL player?

Thanks to an avid follower of FPL; that YellowTree code on their FB page is out of date - use this one: 241277-182301

Shameless bump as it's all kicking off soon - quite literally.

Second, a little birdy told me that Skirts Bar has prizes on the go every week for FPL - I'm told it is just off 51 down the side of Shanghai, next to old Rehabb & ask for Mol. $2 and $5 per week buy-ins.

Has anyone else found any decent prize leagues beyond that, or the PiPay league, etc? #LastChanceSaloon

In danger of renaming this thread "BatshitcrazySpigz wallows in his own Fantasy Football misery" :-?

I figured I'd go back to my K440 winning strategy of a couple of seasons back ... but surely one last cheeky flaunt of that strategy by buying Kyle Walker-Peters at 4.5 given he played 90 mins GW1 was a steal of a way into the Spuds back line ...

Cue KW-P dropped & Spuds get turned over despite me having three of their sodding players. Add to that the Hammers ridiculous result vs Southampton, last minute pen having clawed their way back from 2-0 down with ten men. A crap footy weekend all round.

[edit: could be worse, could be a Leeds fan losing my Wood ...]

My first two weekends have been particularly crap.
Thankfully Alonso got me a few points - but my captains pick has got me a total is 4 points over 2 weeks.
Starting to dislike this game

Well done to Harry Kane for a fantastic achievement in breaking Alan Shearer's record for goals in a calendar year. No, he's not in my fantasy team! A great effort from him, though. If only he could be so prolific for England...

He's in mine - I just took the arm band off him because who score back to back hat-tricks? :/ Bloody typical season, my captaincy choices have been atrocious.

Haha, i was too busy the past few days and didn’t pay much attention to my team. Kane stayed as captain.
I reckon perhaps being less involved is a better strategy for me!

Quick congrats to forum regular Navy Long for winning the K440 league this year, 2345 points was a decent haul for sure. The overall winner out of nearly 6 million players had 2512 points.

Also had a look at how I had such a bad season; it turns out that picking the right captain each week really makes a huge difference in this game. My measly total of 2047 points and 800k+ overall ranking could have been boosted if I'd simply picked the right captain each week. This season I only got it right 10 times out of 38 (i.e. the best player in my own squad I could have picked) - if that had been 38/38, my points total would have been ... 2515.

Would have. Could have. Should have. See you next season gents. :-)
