Does a venue with dimly lit lighting effect the flavour of the food?
Does the décor make you drink certain drinks or feel a different way?
For example; whilst dining on smashed avo on toast is it better eaten in a cute little vegan café ?
For me dimly lit is fine but complete darkness is novelty and bright lights are good for nobody when on a date.
I do have irritations with some places that require a torch to see the menu, why not just call yourself mystery menu or dine in a bit of light but not enough to read the menu.
I prefer menu's with pictures as I eat with my eyes and in my experience Khmer know all the words written but struggle to piece together how the food would taste. Thus I am usually left with the ordering when the menu is 'pictureless'. This brings me to my next point, Khmer's order Steak or Salmon when a menu has no pictures, safest bet I guess.
I would be completely lost myself in a Cambodian restaurant without pictures but it would be fun playing innie Minnie monnie mo.
I have eaten steaks around town and anywhere around riverside or 172 is horse shit. Where is the best dry aged grain fed steaks in town averaging 60 days would be good?
Anyways off to Carl's Junior to have a big American juicy burger made with 100% Australian beef.
I might add that if there are any Greek's in town that wish to cook Fish and Chips with a feta salad please do.
Dimly Lit Dungeons
I went to Dine in the Dark just off 172 one time. The food there was really moist. No idea what it was because it was pitch black.

Meum est propositum in taberna mori,
ut sint Guinness proxima morientis ori.
tunc cantabunt letius angelorum chori:
"Sit Deus propitius huic potatori."
