well got some well over due new pants same story as when i gave up long ago in a different place and time:
come back in x days at x oclock.
hmm yes as expected not ready, come back another day
some time later again pants arent there yet, waitsome more,
pants come but still need more work. finally ready yes but you guessed it, wrong colour cheap material substituted for the good stuff you paid for
dont complain walk away and dont come back again for years.
must be a good business model as many refused to even take an order before i finally found one to do it
that said the actual workmanship itself has always been fine over the years.
perhaps i should go again and order new pants with the cheapest material they got. at least i will then know what i am going to get.
got free time so virtually always do hand washing, side benefit of this is my clothes last for years. got one shirt that is still in prime condition after being owned, worn reasonably frequently and ported around for getting on two decades. would still wear it to notable occasions. only long sleeve shirt i own.
notable occasions not something i frequent either. wearing better clothes when crossing borders or visiting immigration places, helps reduce the real possibility of harassment by border officers. these would be about the most notable occasions i encounter. even still get toooo much harassment on those occasions.

one immigration place that i can recommend is the immigration office in vientiane nearby anz bank. going to cost you though 20000kip/day about 80 baht /day max 30 days per extension
after the first harassment encounter each subsequent extension encounter went so fast it took my breath away. still have to wait a day and return but the actual encounter is in milliseconds. good job. can only get two though for total of three months stay then you gotta do a border run and repeat again. cant open a bank account so takes lots of baht/dollars. best bank with no fees and best atm exchange rate is sacombank
vientiane hasnt got pp traffic problem is fine place after the tuk tuks figure out that you aint ever going with them and stop harassing you. probably a bit more expensive than pp for daily living. definitely more expensive than the major towns in nearby isaan or even bangkok areas i frequent

Your trousers weren't made of the exact same material as the swatch stapled to your receipt, and you just swallowed it like a chump?
actually i paid the full amount and returned the swatch somewhat before the pants arrived so didnt have it there to compare. got better things to argue about for the price. mostly i dont put very much care into my clothing so its not a real big deal for me. for instance, haven't worn ironed clothes for years. all the beautiful young girls still smile at me no matter how i dress. dressing badly unkemptly helps to keep away the pestering lovely, lovely man.epidemiks wrote:Your trousers weren't made of the exact same material as the swatch stapled to your receipt, and you just swallowed it like a chump?

Having admins using the word "lovely, lovely man" is a great way to grow a site's participation.logos wrote: Yep. Best way to get the birds and keep the goddamned lovely, lovely man away.

I think you may have missed the sarcasm in the response.gavinmac wrote:Having admins using the word "lovely, lovely man" is a great way to grow a site's participation.logos wrote: Yep. Best way to get the birds and keep the goddamned lovely, lovely man away.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
