MMMM rum
Just remember...drinking rum in the morning doesn't make you an alcoholic, it makes you a pirate, aaaaarrrrrrr!
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

On a side note, I remember when Cyrcee Bar offered $3 shots of Ron Zacapa 23. It's the best rum I've ever had the pleasure of drinking. No mixer needed and that's the lowest price I have ever seen.
Numbnuts all grown up
Diplomatico & the Zacapa 23 also available at Lone Pine on st.51 plus a bucket load of others to pair up with the top drawer food. Can't recommend highly enough.

Haven't tried the Zacapa (yet - but will have a look for it now), but Flor de Caña (especially the bottles aged 7 + years) are the best I've had, and are very good value for money, even outside of Nicaragua.

The Zacapa XO is off the charts good, but I prefer the Flor de Caña 12 year over the Zacapa 23 actually.moethebartender wrote:Haven't tried the Zacapa (yet - but will have a look for it now), but Flor de Caña (especially the bottles aged 7 + years) are the best I've had, and are very good value for money, even outside of Nicaragua.
Ricecakes, that's a good missus you got there!
I like rum mixers and cocktails. And I quite often make a big planters punch for parties etc. But I have never drunk it neat, apart from raiding my old mans drinks cabinet when about 12 years old.
Which one of the above two mentioned would you recommend to try first - Diplomatico or Zacapa?

Exactly as I posted above -- the Zacapa XO or the 12 (better yet 18!) Flor de Caña.slavedog wrote:I like rum mixers and cocktails. And I quite often make a big planters punch for parties etc. But I have never drunk it neat, apart from raiding my old mans drinks cabinet when about 12 years old.

If you want to swing by the house for a glass let me know, we can try a few!
Depends on what kind of spirits you like I guess - for a sweeter taste akin to a darker chocolate & smoothness I'd go for Zaya from Trinindad & Tobago. For a really clean & discernible rum taste I think Migs is on the money with the Zacapa XO, for those who like the stuff to attack the mouth & gullet all the way down & linger, perhaps a French Guayan El Dorado would suit. That Zaya sounds the goods. I must look for some when I'm in Australia next week.
Rated R for Ricecakes
Yeah, that would be good. Maybe early doors tomorrow. Or before the footy Saturday. Let's chat on messenger. That or Diplomatico. Which do you prefer?

I bought a bottle of Diplomatico last week. They have 2 in the shop near Lucky, one $35 and the other $39. I bought the $39 one. Whilst I agree it's a nice drink, I couldn't help thinking that I could buy a lower end but still decent cognac at around that price, which to me is a far superior drink. Still, glad to have added it to my collection.
