Child modeling
Anyone ever do this, here or Bangkok? I’m guessing there’s no market for it here, but there are some threads in Thai Visa about it, and I heard some success stories of it in the past.

It seems like easy money, and gives the kid and mom something to do. Open a bank account in the kids name, deposit any earnings, and let the interest build until they’re 18. I would have been prettt excited if I was told when I turned 18 “here’s an account with a lot of money in it, from work you did as a baby and don’t remember. And here are some hilarious pictures / videos of you as well.”

Except you die at age 57 when the kid is 14 and then the Khmer in laws raid the account.FatherTime wrote:It seems like easy money, and gives the kid and mom something to do. It's pure exploitation.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

As my own kids are growing to be awfully cute, I would not mind finding out where the model agencies handling these affairs are located. Straight back from an overweight US, I see attractive people, just about everywhere here.

Pretty unusual for a parent to think that [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Modeling is not as well paid as you think. Photo shoots take a long time and there is lots of dead time. Then there's the long waits at casting calls - unpaid.
Can your child/baby smile on cue? Can they not cry for long periods of time?
Are you okay with strangers touching your child?

A few people have suggested the idea and I thought about it, very fleetingly. Fact is they have a long school day - leave home at 7am, back 4.30 pm - twice a week they have after school stuff, piano classes, tennis, when they don't get home till even later. Up to an hour of homework a day. We're generally busy with football and other fun stuff at weekends.gavinmac wrote:Slavedog could have made a killing with this.
So even if I was OK with the idea of them doing it, I'm really not sure how it could practically be done without dropping other activities or affecting their schoolwork.
So unless someone offers mega-bucks, private tutors and a car with a driver, it won't be happening.

Parents who force their children to model are selfish pricks. They’re not old enough to consent or understand why they do it. Just let them be kids.
Also, if they do stay at it they will be in for some pretty harsh knock backs. “Too fat”, “Too short”, “Too thin”, “Too ginger”, “Too German” etc.

Toddlers in Tiara's, the creepiest and most pathetic thing on television. Depraved moms living vicariously through their little brats.
Dear Lord Baby Jesus, Lyin in a Manger.
