Barber

My issues with the place are:
1. They seem to be all about the 'fade', but not very skilled at actually cutting hair on the top of your head.
2. They don't like it when you request a certain barber. They seem to have the guys on a rotation system and like to insist you are cut by the guy next in line for a customer.
A good alternative is the barber just south of the 2 Brown outlets on 57. $6 without a shampoo but he is very good.
Sothy leaving explains it. There were also those photos up from the Marine Ball, so I figured she had an American boyfriend and it was only a matter of time.
I always get a decent (not great, but much better than most) fade at Tokyo, no issues,no hipster crap.
Book online and you can request your barber.
Sothy has been married to that American guy for years, they've got grown kids together. He was working at the Embassy I believe and they moved back to the states once his posting was complete. I do agree that the service has gone a little downhill since she left though.
Cheers for the recommendation purple turtle, will give that place a go.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

That's what I meant though - all they want to do is blend the back and sides with clippers. They don't really know how to cut the rest of it.
Where does one go if one requires a flock of seagulls?
(probably the 80s)
There's one on 108 just west of Norodom called Handsome Every Time (it might be Beautiful Every Time). They know what they're doing and even know how to use scissors, especially the older boys. I foolishly stopped going there in favour of Tokyo, who a few weeks ago gave me a Forrest Gump. Had to shave the whole lot off. Never again.

Yea, I won't be back to Tokyo either. Ugh, I hate finding a new place.RobW wrote:There's one on 108 just west of Norodom called Handsome Every Time (it might be Beautiful Every Time). They know what they're doing and even know how to use scissors, especially the older boys. I texted them to get Sokry's number or FB name but they won't give it to me. Hmm... how to find...

Oh right. Here I was, convinced your new "billiard ball" look was due to your advancing years.RobW wrote:There's one on 108 just west of Norodom called Handsome Every Time (it might be Beautiful Every Time). They know what they're doing and even know how to use scissors, especially the older boys. It's the same phenomenon at hostess bars.Miguelito wrote:Yea, I won't be back to Tokyo either. "Where is Srey Mom?"
"She stop work"
"How long ago?"
"Maybe two months"
"To go where?"
"She stop work"
"Where is she working now?"
"I don't know. "
"I thought you're her best friend."
"Yes"
"Is she working somewhere else?"
"I don't know. You buy drink?
They'll act like she disappeared off the face of the fucking earth.
SreyMom is of course working at the bar next door or across the street.

I think the only reason Tokyo is popular with expats is that for some reason, every male expat tells newcomers to go there. I went one or twice when I first moved here and didn't find it that special. In my honest opinion, it's no different than 90% of Khmer places. I've always been able to find a local barber that's fine on whatever neighbourhood I live in. It's more about finding the right barber than barbershop, but even then I'll swap to the shop a few houses down if my guy is really busy ( impatient). And if the girls screaming and giving manicures and pedicures is your thing, newsflash, almost every barber in town does the same.
Btw, what the hell is an "executive shave"?

I went to Tokyo and ask Sokry "Can you cut my hair like David Beckham?" pointing at his photo on the wall.
He did his best but made a right mess of it. I said, "Sokry this is worse than the haircut you gave RobW, its fucking terrible!"
Sokry replied, "Yeah, maybe, but David Beckham can't cut hair..."

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
If anyone is checking out these new places could they please inquire as to whether they have a specialist mustache trimmer, I'd be much obliged.
