they are setting up a Tokyo Barber shop in Siem Reap maybe some staff have gone there to start it/train staffMiguelito wrote:I recently went to Tokyo Barber and there seems to have been massive staff turnover. It used to be my go-to spot, but no one seems to know what they’re doing there anymore.
If anyone on the off chance was Facebook friends with the barber Sokry there, please let me know.

I just didn't want a bunch of posts "I get mine cut on the corner in front of my gust house and it's fine." If you have specific suggestions that you vouch for, I would love to hear them.
I’m no oil rig worker or coal miner, but wtf with the manicure/pedicure thing you blokes?!
I use Tokyo for myself & the sprog; no complaints on the cuts at all, the dude Hongly is the best there to my mind, but I’ve only come away once thinking- meh, not quite what I wanted (too short, too late to complain!). They’re really good with my son & generally can cut anything I’ve shown them pictures of. I groom my own beard with clippers at home, but that service looks pretty decent there also.
I think I the major recommendation I heard previously (when it opened) were more for the “massage” services of some of the girls. It appears newcomers following that recommendation will be disappointed in the change of staff- last conversation I heard...
Manager: tell him you can’t do that.
Masseuse: /grimaces/nods
Clearly Sexpat Customer: walks out 5 mins later shaking his head without paying
The place I miss most was the Vietnamese guy that used to be on riverside. The shampoo up front was a 20 minute head massage which was 10/10 bliss; the cut 7/10- and all for $5.

And women notice that type of thing. So if I can get an extra service like that for $3 during my haircut, I consider it a cheap luxury and applaud myself on my time saving methods.
And the executive shave... They have a quick shave for $5 but it's using a cheap shaving foam and not that nice of a shave; the executive shave is $8 with a proper hot towel, shaving oil, nice foam, etc. 25 minutes. They have another level too for a 1 hour wet shave, but that just seem excessive.

Had an excellent haircut there - she not only fixed what the Khmer guy did, but prob the best cut I’ve had in years. $12 (which includes a free beer) for a long shampoo and a haircut by an Australian. Definitely found my new go-to.PSD_Kiwi wrote:Both.Miguelito wrote:I'm confused, is The Vine a bar or a hair salon?PSD_Kiwi wrote:The Vine on 172
