Craft Beer
Craft Beer
Exciting news about a new Craft Beer brand now hitting the bars in Phnom Penh.
For those who haven’t previously heard about Stone Head Brewing, you might be surprised to hear that they have been brewing in Cambodia already for years, since 2016 to our knowledge. Stone Head was one of the first legal Thai Craft Brewers, being forced to produce outside of Thailand because of the draconian brewing laws in Thailand. Thus, Stone Head has spent the past few years in Koh Kong, on the Thai border, brewing craft beers for the Thai market.
Now Stone Head has finally started distributing their craft beer to the Cambodian market as well. They are going in strong with their craft beers in Phnom Penh and several places are already stocking them. They were first to be seen at an event with The Exchange but can now be found at bars like Embargo and The Box Office, but also Boston Pizza & Bar and newly opened Burgershack Phnom Penh.

Most "craft" beer places seem to brew lager for some bizarre reason (it all tastes like piss), how about a decent pint of "bitter" I would love to sup on a pint while stuffing ferrets down me trousers & fondling a Pigeon.
The Box Office now boasts over 40 "craft" beers, formerly known as beer or at a push real ale.
Not a big beer fan myself but if I drink it I believe it should, like cars, be made by Germans so occasionally I indulge in a pint from that Kraut brewer whose wares they stock.

The crafts are often overpriced, and somewhat muddy looking, so as a budget conscious expat X,0, I've come to prefer a certain few brands of imported brew, for my bi-weekly exercise of escapism from this realm. I believe a few Germans have been in on the game, regarding the Beer Lao brand, which far exceeds any other lager I've experienced here personally, especially comparing price/amount to performance.
I'm a non-alcoholic person so it wasn't able to get your excitement.
So what's the difference it could make than the existing beer brands?

I had great craft beers at Wat Best in Siem Reap this week. From Battambang and PP:
