I remember watching this documentary several years ago when I was studying the DPRK. I might have posted it already, but for some reason it just popped in my head yesterday. The whole documentary is a quite fascinating account of North Korea's performance at the 8th World Cup, but there's a nice little bit of semi-forgotten history which takes place in Cambodia (another reason I found it cool to watch at the time). I suggest watching from 7:35 to around 14 mins for a nice overview and some cool views of the newly built Olympic stadium, but feel free to watch it all when you have the time.

That's bizarre... It was there when I posted it. It's still there when I attempt to edit the post (and can be seen in a browser), but doesn't show up in tapatalk.

thanks for that lexi...it was not only pioneering days of oz football but in many ways the birth of the "socceroos"...
a couple of days after the qualifiers against the koreans the aussies (albeit most of them were overseas born) played out a 0-0 draw against cambodia in a friendly...the late johnny warren made his debut...he described cambodia like landing on another planet
both of the qualifiers were packed to the rafters...60k and 55k respectively...
with the recent wc qualifiers draw it would have been a nice turn for the roos and cambodia to have been drawn together...
this little blurb has a bit more of that history...
