Today the Phnom Penh Post has an article about Supreme Patriarch Tep Vong, Cambodia's top monk, voicing his support for the CPP in the upcoming election.
This got me curios about Supreme Patriarch Tep Vong, who gained the honorific of Great Supreme Patriarch in 2006, the first to do so in 150 years. A quick google search turned up this article from the Cambodia Daily (Rest in Peace), Buddhist Head Becomes Great Supreme Patriarch. It was really interesting for me to learn that Cambodia actually has two major Buddhist sects, Mohanikay and Dhammayuth. It states that of the nearly 4,000 pagodas in Cambodia, about 150 follow the Dhammayuth path, which is the monarchy affiliated path, including some monks at Phnom Penh’s Wat Botum and Wat Popey; however, Wat Botum Chief Abbot Non Nget is Mohanikay’s supreme patriarch.
It's been over ten years since Supreme Patriarch Tep Vong became head of both sects. I would be curious to learn anything about the differences between the two sects, and if anyone has insights on how the last ten years has affected them. Also, which Wat is Supreme Patriarch Tep Vong's?

Well it kinda complicated, Buddhism has no branches or set at first of its creation by Buddha. Sects and branches were created (based on common sense) in order to gather followers for power or so (it's a long way down the rabbit's hole) since god knows what happened Bcoz people have their own understanding and way of teaching within the Buddhism tree of wisdom.
The 2 main branches of Buddhism are: Mahayana and Hinayana. Short explanation Mahayana is big and Hinayana is small. Mahayana inspired and created even more branches and sects within that one big branch, the same as Hinayana also create sects and branches. One main branch in the Hinayana side is Theravada which country like Cambodia Thailand and some other practiced in. Within Theravada there are 2 branches (the 2 you mentioned in the first post). Mohanikay and Dhammayuth, Dhammayuth is the practice of monarchy or royal family or simply rich men of the past, Mohanikay is the practice of everyday joe Cambodian.
It's a long explanation, but it doesn't even mater since as of right now 16 days from 2018 no one really care or even know these 2 branches within the Theravada exist.
