If you buy a Thai elite, do you still need 800k in the bank or the equivalent monthly income?

Really?
Plonk about US17k in an account and get 5 year visa, or at least a visa that can be extended for 5 years?
Good deal if so.

You don't get the $17k back, though. The THB 1,000,000 for the 20 year one seems better value (if you think you are going to endure that long).

That's not my understanding, but perhaps others with more knowledge can confirm as I am no expert.

What a "Thai Elite"? The name of the visa of their who park money in a Thai bank?

Damn, paying 17k for a five year visa sounds rediculous.

Well I suppose if you are buying something akin to residency in a fairly developed country, the 20 year one compares favourably with schemes offered in other semi-developed countries such as Greece, Spain and Portugal.
