When I was working in HCMC in 2001 there were two Vietnam expat forums. One was called 'Mekong' I think. Now I cannot find any except to corporate travel behemoths. Fact is I know of only two SEA forums that are any good - Thaivisa and Khmer 440. Nothing for Indonesia, Burma or Malaysia expats except a couple of too broad range ones (British expats is one).
Is it a thankless task running a board ? No profit ? Advertising revenue hassles? Censorship problems? Trling and flaming? Or are there just not enough expats and long - term travellers in other places?
Vietnam forms - what happened to them and why?

Probably too many twats asking stupid questions. I'd close my doors too if I had to put up with such twaddle.
Who remembers the name of that crazy forum for Indonesia where they were flaming each other hardcore? It looked pretty specific, and even reminded me of K440! I think Gavin was the one that posted it on here a few years ago...hermespan wrote: Nothing for Indonesia, .....
Can anyone remember what I'm talking about? I'd love to check that one out again if it's still up and running..

have run big forums before, its not hard but with older forum software spam bots are a problem and kir would experience it here, ive disabled my old forum years ago because of this and conflicts with newer versions of php and more to the fact the purpose it was in existence has pasted and no longer used
anyone can install phpbb or ipb... you just need a market to get it going
