Getting them out, and out while the water is low, is the bigger challenge.

Yeah. Why quote me? Did something I wrote suggest I didn't understand the gravity of the situation? Do you think they'll be sending one big lot of food at once? I reckon there will be a stopgap amount and then more will follow behind.Hanno wrote:They are sending in food for 4(!) months.violet wrote:Food and supplies will get there, and may already be there.

It doesn't work that way with everything in life, Violet. They just have to scuba dive it all at once if they want to. I don't think they can teach all the kids to scuba dive at once. There will be no atmospheric pressure to contend with, if one person gets in trouble they'll probably drown.violet wrote:I reckon there will be a stopgap amount and then more will follow behind.
There is tons of ways to get them out, though. Just sayin all reasonable n shit bastards.

Having a bad day but didn't think I'd reacted strongly. I just asked a question etc.
Edit. I can see how my words can be read with totally different tone and force of delivery than they were written. Totally weren't written that way.

Tbh, bats, I was thinking the same thing about the coach when the incident first came to light. Were the kids really equipped for such a tough expedition?
But then I reckon it's better to just get these folk safe and we can think about the inquiry later. Questions do need to be asked, though.
*****Update*****
I've just read that none of the kids can swim. What? Who on earth gave permission for them to even go down there in the Monsoon season?
...and it has been reported none of the children can swim or dive, which greatly increases the risk involved.

Apparently, the boys know the cave well; having been there many times before. No excuse, of course.springrain wrote:Tbh, bats, I was thinking the same thing about the coach when the incident first came to light. Were the kids really equipped for such a tough expedition?

COACH FACES CHARGES FOR LEADING BOYS INTO CAVE
By Teeranai Charuvastra, Staff Reporter - July 3, 2018 9:59 am
CHIANG RAI — Police said Tuesday they will look into whether a 25-year-old coach of a youth football team could face legal action for leading them into a cave complex where they were stranded 10 days.
Col. Komsan Saard-an, chief of Mae Sai Police Station, declined to confirm or rule out charges of negligence against Ekapol “Aek” Chanthawong, who led the group of 12 boys on the excursion into the Tham Luang Nang Non complex.
