Everybody who can swim battles that panicky feeling when diving for the very first time out in open water imo.
x100 for young kids who cannot swim going through a tight cave complex like that. Maybe the old fashioned diving helmet is the way to go?
And maybe tie the little buggers arms and legs up?

Possibly for adults but less so for children... It is only as we get older that our fears set in - part of human development. Having said that, they must have been.petrified those first 9/10 days, so they will likely feel the panic you speak of. The fear of staying will be greater than the fear of going hopefully....provide the push.spitthedog wrote:Everybody who can swim battles that panicky feeling when diving for the very first time out in open water imo.

I'm in two minds about musk's involvement.

Well, I remember my first open water dive, must have been 8 or 9 years old; and I was crapping myself.....violet wrote:Possibly for adults but less so for children... It is only as we get older that our fears set in - part of human development.

Jaws. Came out just then. Not at all conducive for one's first dive.Jep wrote:In fear of seeing a Mermaid who might take you're breath away?Hanno wrote:Well, I remember my first open water dive, must have been 8 or 9 years old; and I was crapping myself.....violet wrote:Possibly for adults but less so for children... Apparently the operation could take 2-3 days with them being brought out one by one. First one out is expected around 8pm (Cambo time).

If it takes experienced cavers 5 to 6 hours to make their inward journey, the extra burden of extracting a small group of tired, weakened kids would take much longer. One group of four and three groups of three was the latest.
