Lee Vincent - Chut Wutti murder connection.
Below is a quote from an extensive news report about Lee Vincent and his operation. This section outlines the connection to Cambodian Safrole Oil - made from Yellow Vine.
Chut Wutti was investigating a very large Yellow Vine processing facility when he was murdered in the Cardamoms in 2012. - at the location of that facility.
(He was my one and only real Cambodian living hero in all my time here.)
This is link to the full Op Ark/Lee Vincent report from NZ Herald 2018;

The part that interests me is the following Cambodia related excerpt;
"There was no dirty stigma with E, ......
But the drug of choice in the nightclubs across the world had humble origins in the jungle of Cambodia.
MDMA is made from safrole oil, distilled by boiling the roots and bark of a rare tree, mreah prov mhnom.
For centuries, locals extracted safrole oil for traditional remedies on a small scale.
But when the global demand for MDMA peaked, so did safrole oil.
The damage to the environment was so great, that Cambodia banned the felling of trees and production of oil.
In turn, clandestine oil distilleries cropped up in the protected forests.
Raids on these jungle camps in 2008 seized 5.7 tonnes of safrole oil - enough to produce 245 million Ecstasy tablets.
More raids strangled the flow of safrole and suffocated the production of MDMA."
- But obviously some Safrol MDMA still going strong in 2012. (and still now). 'Ti was killed for it.

...then he smiled again, and slipped away, further on up the stream
