Opening bank account during a short visit.

One of my clients is looking to open a bank account here but he will only fly into PP for a couple of days, as far as I can see most banks now ask you more requirements than just a valid visa.
Anyone knows which banks could be more flexible on their requirements?

Are most of your clients former dictators or generals on the run?

PSD, you know the rules -- no outing of posters, and that includes guessing games. I apply this rule if they're right or if they're wrong (which is more often the case).

Cheers.

ABA still only requires valid passport and visa, Vattanak doesn't even offer accounts for people on retirement Visa since they want an employment letter or business license, acleda wants the same.
PPCB seems unsure and we will see if they can waive their requirements for my clients as they always have been very nice to work with.
Small microfinances seem to require only visa and passport as well.

From my experience AMK and ABA need nothing more than a passport (tourist visa ok) and some $ to open.

Are you in Cambodia now? If yes, why not ask the banks in person what their requirements are?

Your client will have to provide a local address & phone # (and I doubt a hotel or GH will do). How will s/he do this if they don't know anyone local?

I opened one with Acleda on a shortish visit some years ago but the mgr and the person accompanying me knew each other very well.

How will a teller know the difference between the address of a hotel, guesthouse or AirBnB vs. the address of an apartment? It's not like they are going to mail paper statements there anyway.

ABA and some others as mentioned don't care about your local address.

I went to several and found a couple that suited my client well.
