The maybank ATMs produce an error message when you try to withdraw money with a visa card now. I was told that this was due to an update to the ATM software and that the service would only work with visa plus cards from now on...

Maybe he means doing a cash advance on a visa card and not using a Visa debit/ATM card.

Cashier looked my Visa Electron and said this isn't Visa+ (whatta hell that even is?). I ask, since when some else Visa than Visa+ didn't work anymore, answer was - always I tell that i've been using my Visa Electron years in their ATM's...

So, if only this Visa + is the only one that will work that will annoy a lot of people.
Is there another bank around that doesn't charge ATM withdrawal fees? I used Maybank ATMs for the last few years.

first occurred yesterday. tried again today with two different ATMs. then went to a random ATM next door and got my money (including a 4 Dollar fee of course).raendi wrote:Today.Nasty Canasta wrote:When did this change occur?aem wrote:The maybank ATMs produce an error message when you try to withdraw money with a visa card now. Where is the nearest Maybank ATM, to Street 278 and 57? My google search shows a Maybank *branch* toward the south end of BKK-1, but I'm hoping I don't have to walk that far for a Maybank ATM.

It's going to be an even longer walk if you can't cross any major roads.Dangerous Dave wrote:Where is the nearest Maybank ATM, to Street 278 and 57? My google search shows a Maybank *branch* toward the south end of BKK-1, but I'm hoping I don't have to walk that far for a Maybank ATM.
Don't you have transport? I'd be inclined not to walk to withdraw funds.
