Wire Transfers
You'll see me in another thread displaying consternation at my (I hope not immediate) death.
In a nutshell - what happens to my money in MFI deposits when I die, even with a will.
Rereading this thread (Wire Transfers), which I hadn't thought applied to my concern I've come up with a scheme.
Presently when a deposit reaches a one year maturity the interest is put into a separate account and the principal
is reinvested. Do you think it would be possible to set up an arrangement that upon maturity the money would
"automatically" transfer to an account in the US? Different accounts would be set up to keep the threshold under $10,000.
All I'm asking for is opinion based on your experience -"Sure, they'd just fill in forms." "No way, it would be too complicated for them to deal with."

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
I transferred from Bank of America to ABA and it processed essentially same day. I did it around lunch time and it was in Cambodia by 3AM. Fee was $45 from BOA and I see another $25 came out, maybe ABA? I sent about $5.5K
I will be sending money back the other way from ABA to Bank of America some time in November, hope it is a fast process.

Thanks Kiwi - yes few words are needed to express an opinion.
You may have seen that Thrifty worked fecal matter into his.

Well GM... it looks like I'll be transferring money out of Cambodia in January. Let me (us) know your costs (fees and time) come November.
Thanks.
Thanks.

In my experience SWIFT transfers from ABA in Cambodia to western bank accounts are also same/next business day.GMJS-440 wrote:I transferred from Bank of America to ABA and it processed essentially same day. Did a Swift transfer with ABA today, funds left my account about 8.00am this morning and was advised by my European bank via email at 6.00pm today that they had received the funds. ABA are bloody good.

I'm beginning to wonder why anyone banks with anyone else. As far as I know they're the only ATMs where you can take out $1000 cash from overseas accounts as well.Thrifty wrote:ABA are bloody good.
My work banks with ANZ Royal corporate who generously offered not so long ago to enable this amazing thing called Internet Banking... for a modest fee of $50 per month! lol
I still do personal banking with ANZ Royal because I'm a legacy customer from a decade plus ago and I'm a lazy cunt and changing banks sounds like it could involve work. However, if I need shit done right, it's over to the wife's account at ABA.
The best thing about ANZ Royal is the free shot of pure adrenaline when you log in to their notoriously fucking miserable internet banking service in the middle of the night and it shows you that your bank account has ZERO dollars.
