I was at Acleda this morning. The cashier wouldn’t approve my transaction because she couldn’t read my signature.
I explained that it was my signature and it is different from me writing my name. She disagreed, she said she should be able to read my name from my signature. She was pretty abrupt and condescending.
She said if I fixed the cross bar on my first initial and the last two letters so they were more distinguishable then maybe she could do it but would need to speak to her boss.
I showed her my passport and my signature on it was pretty much identical to what I had signed. I asked her to show me the signature she had on file - surprisingly she did and it was the same. Still she was resolute.
I told her to call her boss. Who came along, gave her a bollocking in front of me, rolled her eyes at me and said sorry.
Then the hussy had a huffy fit, blamed me her her embarrassment, she completed the transaction then thumped around, sighed a lot and slapped my passport & bank book back on the counter and said ‘now we are finished’. It was all very surreal.
She didn’t give me her phone number.
Maybe I’ll change my account to require a thumb print...

The signature saga at Acleda is a big waste of time !
I changed to thumbprint and that didn't help much.
Seems I am not able to do that right either
Is it just acleda?

Yea, I found Acleda to be extremely anal about the signature, even though they have your picture and should be able to verify you are who you say are by checking that or other ID.
Stopped using them about 4 years ago, and only use my ABA acct now, never an issue with them.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
Maybe what!Jamie_Lambo wrote:never had any problem with ABA so maybe
I opened an account at ABA. Very quick and simple and compared to Canadia and the MFIs they seem to employee are actual educated in banking personnel, plus they have a handy APP and internet banking, and seem to retain them for more than two weeks. (lot of final year Uni students seem to work there)
ACLEDA used to be an MiFi didn't it? Maybe they still have the same hiring (sub) standards in place.

pew, pew, pew, pew!
There must be some reason behind it since I had the same issue with Phnom Penh commercial Bank recently. The lady also showed me my previous signature on the pc for which I scolded her a bit, what's the point of being anal if you then show the guy the original signature?
I've had the same issue with ABA Bank a few years ago. Even though they knew it was my account.
They even showed me what my signature should be like and asked if I wanted to to change the bank signature copy. Apparently it was all to do with Auditors. In the end the Manager who was walking past knew me and told them it was ok.
As my signature varies every time, the easiest way around it was get an ABA Debit card and raise the limit to the max.
I have a dormant account with Aceleda and they are useless, ABA have been very good for me.

*The teller needed the document evidence for internal audit
-even though she knew your identification by face to face, by passport and your photo, shed need the documented evidence. If not, audit will check the signature's difference.
-that's the reason the teller show the original signature by monitor screen for helping you remind.

When I had a hand injury and I couldn’t hold a pen to sign the bank staff helpfully (after quite a bit of practise) signed my name for me. There was 4 staff members working together to see who could do it best.
I speak to to the Manager who said - ‘it ok sir, just this one time’
That was pretty recently in Campu Bank, where they have the electronic thumb scan anyway.
The whole episode discombobulated me a tad.

I was in Canadia bank with terrible hangover and my hand is not working normally in this condition
I have to sign five times before they accepted it. They have my picture in computer, but that didn't help, they only tell how many percent it could be wrong.

Pardon my engrish, thanks you.

I had someone in Acleda once tell me that my business visa was fake. I have to admit that my reply was not polite - unfortunately I don't believe in this 'Always be polite and smile when dealing with Khmers' rubbish, if faced with gross stupidity. Admittedly I spend a lot of time here being impolite, much to the embarrassment of my wife.

They didn't like my signature when I opened my account at Canadia, so I printed my full name in capital block letters and that was sufficient.
