First Aid Courses for Staff
Contact the Red Cross. They should have a listing in the yellow pages, or a website that will point you in the right direction. The training our staff received was pretty thorough.
Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.
Excellent - thank you very much. Good news to hear the training was thorough...

I currently run a small (Me) training company in the UK. I currently deliver a wide range of First Aid, Health & Safety and related courses. I am looking to relocate to Cambodia, in the next year or so. What do you think the market will be for an expat who has many years of experience delivering such courses there and what would be a price per person ( I prefer a trainer/learner ration of 1:12) Would you want UK accreditation? All advice and guidance gratefully received.
btw, I am a fully qualified teacher and deliver over 58 compliance courses on behalf of 5 national accrediting organisations
You're thoughts?
Many thanks

Nothing but an opinionated tourist. The Pope spends more time in countries than I do ! It is also not my place to comment on a gentleman's dress. A real 23 minute wonder, that obviously knows little about ovens and cooking in Cambodia.
SOS do full day or half day FAT in khmer or english but they are not "certified" from any place in particular, but they do them regularly.
I did one (a full day) a few months back with Cori Parks who is a certified American Heart Association trainer and runs certified courses. You get a nice little AHA card at the end valid for 2 years. She does adult and paediatric. Shes one of the spin instructors at the Place and actiove on CPN. I cant recommend her highly enough. (she might just do english though).
I sent my nanny on a Cambodian Red cross one in the last year - cost 50 USD at Sambos tots for 1 full day and 2 half days. She loved it. All in khmer.

Interesting, I could prob' bring UK accreditation from one of the awarding bodies here. I also volunteer as a trainer here with the British Red Cross. I only speak English ( Khmer has not really taken off yet in Wigan, lol) but i could work with and train some locals to offer courses in both English and Khmer. Also training in other subject area, such as Health & Safety etc...
Worth exploring as an option i think
Thanks for your information

I am surprised to learn that English has finally taken off in Wigan, last time that I was in South Lancashire I could not understand a damn word any of the locals said. Glottalisation and Barm Cakes getting thrown at me left, right and centre, terrifying.EdinWigan wrote: ... ( Khmer has not really taken off yet in Wigan)
Personally, I blame George Orwell.

lol, although Orwell only spent 3 weeks in Wigan and left as it was not depressed enough for him.

Are you authorised to conduct training for IHCD FPOS-i? If so I would be very interested as I need to do a refresher course because my cert is due to expire.EdinWigan wrote:I currently run a small (Me) training company in the UK. Hi PSD, thanks for showing an interest, alas i am not yet based in Cambodia. I am just testing the water, ahead of a planned move next year.

Sweet as, if you do make the move and are authorised in conducting FPOS-i certification let me know, as myself and a few other people I know living in Cambodia require this certification for the industry we work in and would be willing to pay for your services rather than having to go to the UK.EdinWigan wrote:Hi PSD, thanks for showing an interest, alas i am not yet based in Cambodia.
