Western trained?

found this one by the power of google... but wasn't sure if anyone had any personal experiences to offer. searched here and found only the horror story with the backpacker.

European dental has a Scottish dentist...supposed to be good. SOS has a dentist from the UK - again excellent reports and she is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.
nothing worse than a toothache.

thanks guys!
this looks like it's likely going to be a wisdom tooth extraction (the wife, not me... i never grew any) so i want her to get the best care possible. i've heard some horror stories about them from friends even with american dentists and top notch equipment/cleanliness.

European Dental is the best clinic in Cambodia. I have had an examination & filling from the Scottish dentist Dr David and is top notch as was his predecessor Dr Deborah who did my first root canal. They aren't the cheapest but they are the best and its the surgery that many embassy's recommend and use themselves. Also understanding of people with dental phobia's
Bonez you need to recommend a specific operator at Room Chang as it can be a very mixed experience there due to size of operations.

This is Dr Deborah who was previously at European Dentalsmithy wrote: SOS has a dentist from the UK - again excellent reports and she is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in the UK.

enough mercury to kill a baby and in a few appointments i can now eat corn on the cob with confidence.

I got a wisdom out at SOS (by Dr. Deborahs predecessor) and they knocked me out for it which was nice.....but couldnt find a vein so at one stage were looking at my toes for veins...luckily that plan didnt come to fruition.
I can't recommend any western trained dentists but Room Chang wouldn't listen to me and wanted to fix the obvious and failed to fix the tooth causing pain. Never even took x-ray's. Then I went to one or 2 streets north and they got the crown to close to a neighboring crown and it cracked. It also has started hurting again a year later. They were pretty expensive for Cambodia and crap work. I found a Khmer one and love them and way cheaper. Plus still knowing little to no Khmer it makes it even more fun. Did one surfacing filling for $20 so far and it feels better than the American's ones I have had done.

wow. sorry to hear that. nothing worse than a bad trip to the dentist.tatt2ed wrote: Room Chang wouldn't listen to me and wanted to fix the obvious and failed to fix the tooth causing pain. Never even took x-ray's.
my last trip there for a root canal (i had a good sized abscess) and 2 fillings had me in the x-ray chamber no less than 4 times.
and yes.. they are a bit more expensive when compared to the Giant Tooth Dentists.
that visit... along with a cleaning was $120.

Got this one recommended (Lina), though no first or second hand experience. Khmer Uni educated.
I know her sister and assuming Lina is as serious as the sister, you will get serviced according western standards.
