I think I remember someone posting that there's a lady Japanese dentist in town that's quite good . Can anyone give me details. I'm not keen on going back to Romchang or whatever it's called. Last time I went there all I got was day after day of pain and suffering and huge bill at the end, and I wasn't particularly happy with the result. I'd like to be able to eat my Christmas turkey with all teeth in top order.
Thanks.

I realise everyone thinks Romchang is great but that just wasn't my experience. I'm mentally scarred and can't go back.

I don't recommend Roomchang to anyone anymore. Top dollar and service has slipped considerably. My last work there failed in less than a month and they refused to fix anything. Never again.
I still use EU and I hear good things about the Japanese Dental Clinic.

I've heard good things, and know many people who swear by European Dental clinic on Norodom Boulevard.

I have been several times to :- "D,Care" street 19, around the corner from Cyclo Guest house on street 172.
Excellent and cheap in my opinion.

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
I once met a 70 yo Australian ex-boxer in SNVL. He had just had all his teeth ground and capped in 2 days.
"Anesthetic" I queried? "No", he replied, "Excellent dentist, thoroughly recommend him".
^ True story.
The thing about RoomChang is that they are definitely into it for the money. One consultation was all it took to see that their practices were far from western standard, but their prices were approaching it.
Mink coat, dirty knickers.

Well I'm glad in a way that it's not just me who has negative things to say about Roomchang. They may have a fancy building and staff in pretty uniforms but if the work isn't up to standard that's pretty worthless.
Anyway, didn't start the thread to malign Roomchang. I really just want the contact details of the hot Japanese chick dentist, or even just the name of her practice.

You know, HCMC city isn't that far away. I took a week off work and rode there on the bike - got my teeth done - had a nice little holiday (apart from the 2 hour daily grind in the chair) and saved anywhere from $250 ( La Belle) to $2000+ (Roomchang). Average price I would have saved would have been about $200 a cap inc root canal treatment after surveying about 20 dentists here. So, that's $1200. As I said I got it all done in HCMC for $250. There they have the fur coat and are quite well trained to back it up. I had to go around about 10 or so dentists to find one that would charge me the normal Vietnamese price, but once you've found one...

So why not do the useful thing and share the contact details for this dirt cheap virtuoso of a HCMC dentist?Abou-Gor wrote:You know, HCMC city isn't that far away. That's just my experience. There are plenty of dentists in HCMC. If you feel like paying more for the same treatment, that's up to you. Dental 2000, with the huge sign, at the west end of Pham Ngo Lao park, used to be $50 a root canal and crown. 3 years later their prices were $200 for the same treatment. Same dentists. A lot more tourists wanting their teeth done. Most on insurance. Just rent a moto and ride around it a bit. It isn't hard.walkjivefly wrote:So why not do the useful thing and share the contact details for this dirt cheap virtuoso of a HCMC dentist?Abou-Gor wrote:You know, HCMC city isn't that far away. Japanese dentist gal really good, located in the Hyundai Phnom Penh Tower with Eclipse Sky Bar on Monivong. Backlog of loyal clients. Interviewed her for work.
The best for value, and really cute too, is Labelle Dentist on St. 110. 092 963 194. Often booked, always sweet.

I'm not looking for a dentist and if I was I probably wouldn't be looking in HCMC. But you went to a particular one after researching prices at "about 10 or so" and they had a fur coat and were trained accordingly. So why not share the details of this particular dentist so that others might save themselves the driving around and go straight to your recommendation? It's not complicated. If you don't have the details just say so.Abou-Gor wrote:That's just my experience. There are plenty of dentists in HCMC. If you feel like paying more for the same treatment, that's up to you.
